Abstract/Summary:
Objective:To explore the sensitive time of hormonal therapy between Uygur and Han patients with prostate cancer and the clinical factors influence the sensitive time of hormonal therapy, so as to provide the basis for individualized treatment for patients with prostate cancer in the Xinjiang region. Methods:The time from the beginning of hormonal therapy to develop into castration resistant prostate cancer(CRPC) was defined as the sensitive time of hormonal therapy,in this study, we retrospectively analyzed of the clinical data of 111 Uygur and Han patients with prostate cancer who had received hormonal therapy alone, set up the Cox regression model, and analyzed the relationship between various clinical factors and the sensitive time of hormonal therapy. Result: Univariate regression analysis revealed that the nation(P=0.508), age(P=0.099), treatment model(P=0.399) had no correlation with the sensitive time of hormonal therapy, initial PSA value, clinical stage, Gleason score, nadir PSA value and bone metastases which existed significant correlation(P<0.05) with the sensitive time of hormonal therapy. Multivariate regression analysis revealed that only clinical stage(P=0.000) and nadir PSA value(P=0.000) were the main influencing factors for the sensitive time of hormonal therapy in patients with prostate cancer. Higher clinical stage lead to CRPC appearance earlier after hormonal therapy, the patients with prostate cancer could later grow into CRPC when their PSA value dropped to less than or equal to 0.2 ng/ml after hormonal therapy. Conclusion: There is no difference between Uygur and Han patients with prostate cancer in Xinjiang regarding the sensitive time of hormonal therapy, but clinical stag and nadir PSA value are independent risk factors for the sensitive time of hormonal therapy in patients with prostate cancer.
