Objective: To investigate the preliminary application values of quantitative DT I and MRS in HIV/AIDS associated intracranial tuberculosis. Methods: 17 subjects who had been confirmed with AIDS and cerebral tuberculosis, 16 volunteers were recruited to perform routine MRI, CEMRI, DTI and HMRS sequences. Morpholog-ical features of the intracranial lesions were recorded. ADC, FA, relative ADC(rA DC), relative FA(rFA), NAA/Cho, NAA/Cr and Cho/Cr of the lesions solid areas,edematous areas, normal areas of case group and corresponding normal areas of contrast group were measured and their variances in different areas were analyzed.Results: The DTI parameters of 41 lesions and MRS indexes of 16 focuses were measured in case group. Significant differences of the values were observed among the three regions of cerebral tuberculosis, the results of multiple comparisons betw-een the three areas had statistical significances(P<0.05) excepted NAA/Cr betwee n edematous and contralateral sections. ADC, FA, rADC, rFA, NAA/Cho, NAA/Cr on solid areas were lower than that on edematous areas, Cho/Cr on solid areas wa-s higher than that on other two areas. The diagnostic efficiency of rFA value to d-istinguish solid and edematous areas was the highest by ROC analysis(P<0.05).The normal areas of the two groups had statistical significances(P<0.05) excepted NAA/Cr. Conclusion: Quantitative DTI sequence is valuable to display the brain l-esions micro-structure changes and MRS could reflect the early pathology metaboli-tes changes of HIV/AIDS associated intracranial tuberculosis, and both of them co-uld provide valuable information for clinical diagnosis.
