Objective: To investigate the correlation among Left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF), Left ventricular end-systolic diameter(LVESD), Left ventricular mass index(LVMI), heart rate, PR duration, QRS duration, QTc duration, NYHA classification and Left atrial volume index(LAVI) in order to provide the theory evidence for diagnosis, treatment, prevention and prognosis in patients with chronic heart failure. Methods: Two hundred and ninety-eight cases of patients with chronic heart failure in our hospital between January 2011 and August 2015 were selected. The patients were divided into two groups: group 1, LAVI<40(ml/m2);group 2, LAVIā‰„40(ml/m2). The differences of the general clinical data, blood biochemistry, cardiac function classification, the parameters of echocardiography and cardiac electrical activity of patients were compared and analyzed. Correlation analysis was studied in two groups. Results:(1) There was significant difference in NYHA classification in the two groups(P<0.01), LAVI level correlated positively with NYHA classification, rs = 0.357(P<0.01).(2) There were significant differences in LVEF, LVESD and LVMI in the two groups(P<0.01). LAVI level correlated negatively with LVEF, rs =-0.595, P<0.01. LAVI level correlated positively with LVESD and LVMI, correlation coefficient was 0.584 and 0.633 respectively,P<0.01.(3) There were significant differences in heart rate and QRS duration in the two groups(P<0.01). LAVI level correlated positively with heart rate and QRS duration, correlation coefficient was 0.240 and 0.189 respectively,P<0.01. Conclusion: With an increase in LAVI level in patients with chronic heart failure,LVMI increased, LVEF decreased, LVESD and heart rate increased, QRS duration prolonged, NYHA class increased. It indicated that the changes of LAVI may reflect the severity of cardiac remodeling, ventricular electromechanical activity in desynchrony and changes of cardiac function.
