Objective: To discuss the correlation of Visfatin, MMP-9 and myocardial remodeling of rheumatic heart disease, and the change of Visfatin and MMP-9 during preoperative period. And to provides the reference for the evaluation of myocardial remodeling for rheumatic double disc lesion patients. Methods: Collected 38 rheumatic heart disease patients who suffered double valves replacement in North Sichuan Medical College Affiliated Hospital in June 2014 to October 2015. And chose 12 cases healthy adults at the same time as control group(group C). Excluding been complicated by cancer, diabetes, blood disease, coronary atherosclerotic heart disease, atrial fibrillation and severe obesity(BMI 28 or higher). According to the results of preoperative UCG divided the 38 cases into group A(left ventricular diameter,LVD 50 mm or higher) and group B(LVD < 50 mm). Measured Visfatin and MMP-9 at pre-operation and 48, 120 and 240 hours after operation. Collected and observed mitral valve papillary muscle specimens of group A and B.Results: 1) the pre-operation Visfatin and MMP-9 of surgical group was higher than the control group(P < 0.01). Among the surgical group, group A was higher than group B(P < 0.01). 2) Compared respectively in group A and B, Visfatin and MMP-9 at 48, 120 and 240 hours after operation were higher than pre-operation(P < 0.01). And there was no statistically significant difference of Visfatin and MMP-9 among 48, 120 and 240 hours after operation. 3) The Visfatin and MMP-9 level of group A is higher than group B in each checking time.4) myocardial cell diameter of group A was higher than group B, and the group A with high percentage of myocardial interstitium. Conclusion: 1) the Visfatin and MMP-9 levels of rheumatic heart disease are significantly higher than normal. And the greater of myocardial remodeling, the rise is more obvious. 2) The postoperational Visfatin and MMP-9 of rheumatic heart disease surgery are elevated, but it changes little at postoperative short-term(240h).
