Objective:To investigate the efficacy and complications of amputation of submandibular preganglionic parasympathetic fibers on primary sialorrheaMethods:To conduct one-side Submandibular preganglionic parasympathetic fibers amputation in 31 patients in our hospital during Jan 2010 and Jan 2013 with primary sialorrhea.And detect and record preoperative and postoperative static total saliva flow rate and subjective symptoms of sialorrhea,and the occurrences and complications were followed up.Results:By 15-39 months follow-up, the objective evaluation of efficiency is 96.78%(30/31), the subjective assessment of efficiency is 93.55%(29/31) in the 31 patients. No recurrence and no complications occurredConclusion:amputation of submandibular preganglionic parasympathetic fibers is simple, safe and effective method for treatment of primary sialorrhea.
