| Breast cancer has become one of the most common cancer of women in China, and it’s needs to make more effort to treat more effectively and to have a better prognosis. signal transducers and activators of transcription 1(STAT1) has confirmed that it’s a strong catalyzer to cell death. Also it’s connected with the formation of p53. The lake of STAT1 may lead to a higher frequency of ER+ breast cancer,and the expression of STAT1 is higher in endocrinotherapy resistance breast cancer. The expression of STAT1 in 37 cases of benign breast disease and 87 cases of breast cancer was detected by immunohistochemical technique, and analyze it’s relationship with prognosis. Objective:To explore the expression of STAT1 in breast cancer tissue and to investigate the relationship between STAT1 and prognosis. Methods:The expression of STAT1 in 37 cases of benign breast disease and 87 cases of breast cancer was detected by immunohistochemical technique. The association with the expression of STAT1 and clinical parameters and prognosis was analyzed. Kaplan-Merier analysis and log-rank test was used to conduct overall survival analysis and draw survival curve. Results:The high and strong positive expression rate of STAT1 in breast cancer tissue was 48.3%, it was significantly lower than that in benign tissue(78.3%),(p<0.01). Patients with progesterone receptor-positive breast cancers had a higher expression of STAT1 compared with the patients with progesterone receptor-negtive breast cancers. High expression of STAT1 indicates a better prognosis. Conclusion:The expression of STAT1 is higher in the progesterone receptor-positive breast cancers, STAT1 may play a role in the prognosis of breast cancers. |
