Quantitative ultrasound technology has many applications in clinical detection and treatment. Ultrasonic detection is the most common non-invasive detection method that can detect many diseases. Ultrasound bone density detection is one of them.Aging problem is becoming very serious. Osteoporosis threatens the health of the elderly. Its harm cannot be underestimated. Moreover, there is no effective treatment to make the bone back to normal after bone loss. So it is very important to know how to prevent fractures and bone diseases through early diagnosis of osteoporosis. This paper designed a fully functional detection software for the ultrasound bone densitometer. This paper analyzes the principle and calculation method of important parameters of ultrasound bone densitometer. We achieved a high-speed USB communication, real-time read and display, result calculations, data storage and printing report.There is a detailed description of how the software was designed and achieved in this paper. We used a high-speed USB interface chip FT232H for data transmission to meet the demand of speed with high sampling rate. The software used unmanaged code in C sharp to call the API to achieve data transmission through D2XX driver, We achieve the display function by using MSChart control and operate the controls in external thread by delegation. We analyzed and achieved the calculation of important parameters including SOS and BUA. We also briefly describes the implementation of function of data storage and printing reports in the software. Finally, a result comparison and analysis with a imported equipment was given. All aspects of performance was greatly improved.The project finally achieved the programming of C# software of the ultrasound bone densitometer on PC, which can send commands to hardware to control the motor, impulse the probe and real-time acquisition and transmission of data. Data can be displayed real-time and parameters can be calculated immediately. Patient results can be stored and printed. The program is based on.NET Framework platform, so it can run on PC or tablet PC with Windows XP, Windows 7 or Windows 8 operating system. So this software has a high practical value. The program was demonstrated on a prototype and made a good performance.
