Objective:This experiment by copying atherosclerosis rats model, application of sappanwood acetic ether extract to intervene, observed the pathological morphology of aortic vascular wall model rat’s abdomen change and serum levels of MMP-9 and TIMP-1 expression level and MMP-9/TIMP-1 change, to explore the ethyl acetate extract of sappanwood atherosclerosis resistant to provide objective basis.Methods:55 SD rats, adaptive raising a week,8 were randomly selected as a blank control group, only the rest of the rats by intraperitoneal injection of vitamin D3 700000 IU/(kg/d), for three days, began feeding high fat forage 12 weeks, in order to copy the model of atherosclerosis. Stay after the success of the model replication model rats were randomly divided into 5 groups: model control group, the group of off, wood ethyl acetate extract of low, medium and high dose group. Give the blank control group, model control group 10 ml/sodium carboxymethyl cellulose solution (kg/d), shu of group was given off the solution of 10 ml/(kg/d), ethyl acetate extract of sappanwood low, medium and high dose group was given the low, medium and high concentrations of sappanwood 10 ml/ethyl acetate extract solution (kg/d), cycle is 4 weeks.4 weeks after application of aortic pathomorphism changes observed each rat’s abdomen, using enzyme-linked immunosorbent method to detect each group rats serum levels of MMP-9 and TIMP-1 expression level.Results:Compared with model control group, simvastatin group and ethyl acetate extract of sappanwood in low, middle and high dose group’s abdomen aorta vascular wall pathological damage degree of ease. Compared with the blank control group, model control group, simvastatin group, the ethyl acetate extract of sappanwood low, medium and high dose group of elevated serum levels of MMP-9 expression levels, serum TIMP-1 expression level is reduced, statistically significant difference (P<0.05); Compared with model control group, simvastatin group and ethyl acetate extract of sappanwood low, medium and high dose group of lower serum levels of MMP-9 express, elevated serum TIMP-1 expression levels, the difference statistically significant (P<0.05); Compared with simvastatin group, wood ethyl acetate extract of low, medium and high dose group of serum levels of MMP-9 and TIMP-1 expression level no difference (P>0.05).Conclusion:1 Wood ethyl acetate extract could reduce aortic atherosclerosis model rats abdomen pathological damage of blood vessel walls.2 Ethyl acetate extract of sappanwood can reduce atherosclerosis model rats serum levels of MMP-9 expression level, improve the level of expression of TIMP-1, which caused the reduction of MMP-9/TIMP-1.
