Objective:To discuss the clinical effect of short segment fixation and the oblique pedicle screw placement for the treatment of simple compression fracture of lumbar. Methods:Read the thoracolumbar imaging data of 65 cases of simple thoracolumbar fractures (most are type A3, part are type B) in our hospital from October,2011 to October,2013, before and after the operation and the follow-up period and measure CobbS angle and the height of injured anterior vertebral and calculate the internal fixation failure rate to learn if the internal fixation has lost efficacy, the injured vertebral has got height restoration or lost during postoperative follow-up period. Results:By postoperative following-up from 12 to 20 months, the loss ratio of CobbS angle and the height of injured anterior vertebral after restoration is small, no loosening of internal fixation and fractures healed. Conclusions:The short segment fixation and the oblique pedicle screw placement for the treatment of simple compression fracture of lumbar is an effective surgical method.
