Objective: To prove the existence of p75 NTR in the cellular of the mouse embryos esophagus, and the cells which can express p75 NTR may be the stem cells/ progenitor cell. Methods: 1.Collecting the different stages of mouse embryos esophageal epithelium, and putting them in the paraformaldehyde, then they were needed to paraffin-embedded for making paraffin sections. If the embryos were too small,we would taken them as a whole for embedding. For the mice esophagus after birth, they were buried after the separation from the mice. And then using HE staining to find them.2.The p75NTR、CK4、CK14 immuno-positive cells were observed with immunohistochemical method during E11 d to 18 d,1st to 7th after birth, the second week of mice and the adult of mice. 3.Using immuno-influorescence method to test the interaction between p75 NTR and CK4 or CK14.Results: 1.We can find the mouse embryos esophagus in the beginning of the11 th day;2.The expression of p75 NTR 、 CK4 and CK14 were observed in esophageal epithelium of mice. But the p75 NTR were observed in the cytoplasm and cell membrane of the basal layer of esophagus. The expression of CK4 was observed in the cytoplasm of above basal layer of esophagus. The CK14 were observed in the cytoplasm of basal layer of esophagus. In the different developmental stages, the expression of them was all reduced after the first increase, and the differences were statistically significant.3.There isn’t co-expression between the p75 NTR and CK4. But the co-expression was observed between the p75 NTR and CK14, the position were in the basal layer of the esophageal epithelium. Conclusion:The p75 NTR was took part in the developmental stages of mouse embryos, and the cells which can express p75 NTR may be the stem cells/progenitor cells.
