Objective: To evaluate the clinical effect of pulp revascularization in immature permanent teeth and discuss the influence factors of its success. Methods: 8 patients with pulp necrosis or apical periodontitis of immature permanent teeth were included, and treated with pulp revascularization. After the postoperative follow-up of 3, 6, 9, 12, 18 months, preliminary evaluation the effect of the treatment was made. Results: After the postoperative follow-up of 12 to 18 months, a periapical radiograph revealed that 8 cases of the periapical lesions had healed completely. 6 cases of root thickness and length were increased and apical closure(4 case of teeth were showed a positive response to sensitivity tests with the stick of ice and an electric pulp tester), 2 case of root development was not obvious. The short-term follow-up results are satisfactory. Conclusion: Pulp revascularization is effective for managing immature permanent teeth with pulp necrosis or apical periodontitis. The long-term clinical effect remains to be further observation.
