Objective:Through oral examination and occlusal test to 50 college students from Shanxi, we analyzed bite indicators from different groups to discuss the relationship between third molar teeth and temporo mandibular disorders(TMD).Methods:50 college students from Shanxi are were selected to participate in temporomandibular joint inspection carried out, third molar teeth and bite test under six kinds of check mode. The participants were grouped by TMD symptoms and third molar teeth cases. We analyzed the relevance of relationship between the number of third molar teeth and TMD symptoms in statistic methods, compared the differences between the groups on occlusal patterns, analyzed relevance of different modes of occlusal bite indicator.Results:⑴. Relevance existing between the number of third molar teeth and snappings, P<0.05. ⑵. Analysis on univariate variance. Max-contact-area at staggered position bite pattern with significant differnces between different groups of TMD with thirdmolar teeth and between different groups of wisdom teeth numbers.Maximum bite force and max-contact-area at the left occlusal bite mode with significant differences between different grous of TMD and third molar teeth(P <0.05);bite indicators at other occlusal patterns was no significant difference between groups.Conclusions:⑴. Snapping third molar teeth is relevant, especially with impacted wisdm teeth snapping symptoms should be paying adequate attention. ⑵. Impacted wisdom teeth patients has a smaller areas of maximum occlusal contact and a smaller maximum bite force, it should take measures to eliminate the impact of impacted wisdom teeth as early as possible.
