Objectives: To explore the validity, reliability and practicality of Site-rite Ⅴ Ultrasound Guidance System for assessing PICC-related Venous Thrombosis, and to provide basis for effective assessment of PICC-related Venous Thrombosis. Methods: In accordance with the inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria, a consecutive series of in-patients in a hospital were enrolled from December 2013 to September 2014. Participants were followed up by using Site-rite Ⅴ Ultrasound Guidance System in days 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 after catheter insertion and seven days thereafter until day 30. Record the examination results of each Site-rite Ⅴ Ultrasound Guidance System and vascular color ultrasound doppler, and the occurrence time, symptoms and signs of PICC-related Venous Thrombosis.By adopting the method of the evaluation of diagnostic test, to evaluate the validity, reliability and practicality of Site-rite Ⅴ Ultrasound Guidance System for assessing PICC-related Venous Thrombosis in this paper. Results: Totally 119 in-patients were enrolled in the research. In the study, Site-rite ⅤUltrasound Guidance System was screening for PICC-related Venous Thrombosis, 56 cases were suspected of PICC-related Venous Thrombosis, 55 cases were confirmed by vascular color ultrasound doppler, and 1 case was ruled out. In the 63 in-patients who were not suspected of PICC-related Venous Thrombosis by Site-rite Ⅴ Ultrasound Guidance System, 61 cases were confirmed by color ultrasound doppler, but only 2 cases were diagnosed with PICC-related Venous Thrombosis. The two methods were not independent(?2=107.3,P=0.000<0.01), had relevance, the correlation coefficient was 0.689. Sensitivity of Site-rite ⅤUltrasound Guidance System for assessing PICC-related Venous Thrombosis was 96.5%,specificity was 98.4%, the false positive rate was 1.6 %; the false negative rate was 3.5%,Youden’s index was 0.949, positive predictive value was 98.2%, negative predictive value was96.8%.Consistency of the two methods in the diagnosis of PICC-related Venous Thrombosis is97.5%.Conclusions: Site-rite Ⅴ Ultrasound Guidance System could be used in the assessment of PICC-related Venous Thrombosis, helping nurse to screen PICC-related Venous Thrombosis timely, and to assess the PICC-related Venous Thrombosis dynamically, and providing a tool for assessment of PICC-related Venous Thrombosis.
