Objective: By analyzing the relation of p53 expression condition and clinical index and prognosis in Luminal breast cancer, this study is to explore the relation of p53 and Luminal breast cancer, so as to provide new evidence and further make clear the prognostic value of p53 in breast cancer. Method: This study retrospectively analyzed 318 cases of patients with breast cancer that accorded with terms entering groups from June 2009 to December 2010 in breast cancer of the Sichuan Provincial People’s hospital, including 110 cases of Luminal A,146 cases of Luminal B1(HER-2 negative),62 cases of Luminal B2(HER-2 positive). p53 expression condition, pathology characteristics and survival condition of patients were collected. The expression condition of p53 in different Luminal breast cancer was analyzed, and the relation between p53 expression and clinical pathology index and prognosis was analyzed. Result: 1. The expression rates of p53 in Luminal A and Luminal B patients were different(P= 0.021).The DFS and OS of patients with Luminal A type was evidently higher than that of patients with Luminal B type(DFS:P=0.045;OS:P=0.020).2.According to statistical analysis, among Luminal A type patients, the difference of p53 expression-positive group and p53 expression-negative group in age, menopausal status, tumor size, lymph node metastasis number,TNM stages and pathology grading distribution had statistical significance(P<0.05); among factors that influenced patients’ DFS, only TNM stages and lymph node metastasis;independent impact factors affecting with OS only TNM stages(HR adjusted=8.388,95%CI:1.860-37.827),and the expression of p53 was not the factor that influenced the prognosis of patients.3. The age distribution difference between p53 expression-positive group and p53 expression-negative group among Luminal B1(HER-2 negative) type had statistical significance(P=0.025); among factors that influenced patients’ DFS, only tumor size, TNM stages and lymph node metastasis;TNM stages were independent factors affecting patients’ DFS and OS( DFS : HRadjusted =4.994, 95%CI : 2.037-12.241; OS:HR adjusted=4.112,95%CI:1.549-10.920),and the expression of p53 was not the factor that influenced patients’ prognosis.4.In the Luminal B2(HER-2 positive) type, patients with p53 expression and the pathological characteristics of no relevance(P>0.05);in this study, tumor size and lymph node metastasis was the influence factors of DFS,tumor size were independent factors affecting patients’ DFS(HR adjusted=7.190,95%CI:1.188-43.521),the factor that influenced patients’ OS were no found. Conclusion: The expression of p53 has relation with the clinical pathology feature of Luminal breast cancer, especially in Luminal A type; but the relation between p53 and Luminal breast cancer prognosis is still not clear, needing further research.
