Objective: To investigate the clinical effects of liver aid on the prevention of liver injury induced by chemotherapy in patients with gastric cancer. Methods: Collected 146 gastric cancer patients at advanced stage received DCF chemotherapy from November, 2013 to January, 2015 in Qinghai University affiliated hospital, divided into 4 groups randomly. Group A: 52 patients received magnesium lsoglycyrrhizinate injection 200 mg at the first day in chemotherapy, using 5 days continuously; Group B: 34 patients received glutathione prophylaxis injection 2.0g at the first day in chemotherapy, using 5 days continuously; Group C: 46 patients received ornithine aspartate injection 10 g at the first day in chemotherapy, using 5 days continuously; Group D(the control group): 32 patients without the prophylactic use of protect liver medicine. All patients with gastric cancer should receive DCF chemotherapy. Collected venous blood of four groups of gastric cancer patients before and after chemotherapy, and detected the variation of the liver function of the enzyme: alkaline phosphatase(ALP), alanine aminotransferase(ALT), aspertate aminotransferase(AST) and total bilirubin(TBIL), analyze the incidence of liver damage, the changes in liver function and the economic value in clinic. Results: 1. Compared with basic data of patients in four groups, there was no statistically significant difference in age, gender and KPS score, P > 0.05. 2. Compared with the incidence of liver damage of patients in four groups with the chi-square test, there was statistically significant difference in the four groups, P<0.05. Compared between groups A, B, C and group D using segmentation chi-square test, with the inspection level after correction α ’= 0.008, there was statistically significant difference between group A and group D. 3. The hepatic function indexes of four groups before chemotherapy were all in the normal range, through the analysis of variance, the difference comparison in four groups was not statistically significant, P>0.05. After chemotherapy, the liver function indexes of patients in four groups were increased, compared with the liver function before and after chemotherapy in each group, the difference comparison was statistically significant, P>0.05. Compared with the liver function after chemotherapy in groups A, B, C and group D, the difference comparison was statistically significant, P < 0.05. But Compared with the liver function after chemotherapy in groups A, B, C, there was no statistically significant difference, P>0.05. 4. For the residents in qinghai region, glutathione prophylaxis is more economical and practical. Conclusion: The effction of magnesium isoglycyrrhizinate, glutathione prophylaxis and ornithine aspartate on the prevention and treatment of liver injury caused by chemotherapy of advanced gastric cancer is the same, they all can be used to prevent and cure the drug-induced liver injury caused by chemotherapy of advanced gastric cancer patients in the conventional drugs, while glutathione prophylaxis should be more willing to use in clinical because of the price advantage in qinghai province.
