| Purpose: To investigate the ability of the initial positioning and typing of carotid artery plaque by using the multi-sequences on 3.0MRI.Methods: 40 patients with carotid artery plaques who were confirmed by ultrasonic examination,30 patients of Stroke included,which underwent carotid MRI examinations with the multi-sequences including T2,T1,PDWI,3D-T2-Cor and enhanced T1.Reference the standard of MRI formulated by Cai which refer to the AHA atherosclerotic plaque classification to make the types of the carotid artery plaques. Count data using chi-square test of the row of the list, P<0.05 was considered statistically significance criteria.Results:(1)the detection results of the Plaque:240 positions were up to standard,including 26 cases with infarction in anterior circulation and 1 case with infarction in both medulla oblongata and anterior circulation.(2)In 232 positions,72.4 persent of Type I-II,17.2 persent of Type III,2.1 persent of Type IV-V,3.4 persent of Type VI,4.7 persent of Type VII. Various types of plaques have significantly different in the three parts of the carotid artery(P <0.05).Conclusion: multi-sequence MRI has the ability of the initial positioning and typing of carotid artery plaque and the method can be used a noninvasive examination to evaluate the plaques. Carotid artery plaques appear mostly in in thebifurcation of common carotid artery. In the study of all type III-VI, type III were the most about 28 persent,and then type IV-V,6.5persent,type VII,3.4persent,type VI,0.9 persent.Type VIII was not discovered in this study.Purpose: To investigate the relationship between carotid plaque burden and lumen stenosis by quantitive measurement of several index of Carotid artid wall.Methods: 24 patients of Stroke who underwent carotid MRI examinations Measure the TVA,LA,calculate the WA,NWI,and statistic the max TVA, min LA, max WA, max NWI on T1 WI in each 4mm up and down of the carotid bifuracation. Measurement data using t test, P <0.05 was considered statistically significance criteria.Results:(1)No statistically significant difference between the left and the right carotid artery of 24 patients.(2)Mean of TVA,WA,NWI and max TVA,max WA,max NWI in the Side of stroke higher than the side of non-stroke.Conclusion: High-resolution of 3.0T MRI can feasibly make quantitive measurement and analysis the carotid artery wall.Plaque burden of side stroke high the side non-stroke,but no statistically significant difference between the left and the right carotid artery. |
