Objectives: through the use of continuous positive airway pressure(CPAP) and bi level positive airway pressure(Bi PAP) of two different modes of treatment of elderly Uygur patients with overlap syndrome, observe the changes in pulmonary function before and after treatment the blood gas analysis and sleep quality, noninvasive mechanical ventilation in elderly Uighur overlap syndrome patients in minority nationality regions of Xinjiang. Methods: 60 cases of elderly Uygur patients with overlap syndrome were selected in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region people’s Hospital from September,2013 to March, 2014, male were 40 cases, female were 20 cases; the age ranged from 65 to 81 years old, the history of disease was 2 to 7 years, BMI were from 26 to 30 kg/m2. All patients were randomly divided into the observation group and control group with 30 cases in each group, all patients were given basic treatment. The observation group based on the use of Bi PAP non-invasive ventilator, the control group using CPAP non-invasive ventilator, two groups were in use at night, wearing the respirator time 7~8 h/night, continuous use after 5d. Recording of FEV1 and FEV1/FVC FVC, before and after treatment, p H, Pa CO2, Pa O2 and Sa O2, the longest apnea time, respiratory disturbance index(RDI) and apnea hypopnea index, the results were statistically analyzed. Results: 1.FVC, FEV1, and FEV1/FVC of the observation group were significantly higher than the control group(P<0.05).2.pH, PaO2, SaO2 and PaCO2 values of the observation group were restored to normal, the effect was significantly better than the control group(P<0.05).3.Respiratory disturbance index(RDI) and apnea hypopnea index(AHI) of the observation group returned to normal, which significantly better than the control group(P<0.05), and apnea most long time of the observation group was significantly shorter than control group(P<0.05).Conclusion: 1.Compared with CPAP, Bi PAP can more effectively improve sleep quality, blood gas and pulmonary function of elderly Uygur patients with overlap syndrome.2. when we use Non-invasive treatment in CPAP mode to treat eldly uygur patients with overlap syndrome, the airway pressure should be controlled in 8-15,when has good man-machine cooperation and the best treatment effect. By contrast, when we use Non-invasive treatment in Bi PAP mode to treat eldly uygur patients with overlap syndrome,we can have the best treat when the suction pressure was controlled in 8-24, and the expiratory pressure was controlled in 4-8,at the same time to avoid a poor human-computer cooperation and airway and lung tissue stress injury when the perssure is too high, and insufficient ventilation cansed by airway resistence when the pressure is too low.
