【Objective】To discuss the surgical management of acute primary angle-closure glaucoma(PACG) combined with cataract through analysis of the results of phacotrabeculectomy versus trabeculectomy followed by phacoemulsification and foldable intraocular lens implantation. 【 Methods 】 Twenty-one patients underwent phacoemulsification after trabeculectomy and another twenty-one patients done with phacotrabeculectomy.Cataract vision and intraocular pressure before and after surgeries were compared. The related factors with the interval between two kinds of surgeries were also compared. 【Results】The vision were recovered and the pressure were controlled after each surgery with no difference(P>0.05).The complications in phacotrabeculectomy were more(P<0.05).Achievement ratio of operation was 80.95% in staging surgery and 76.19% in combined surgery. 【Conclusion】The combined and staged surgery can recover vision and control ocular pressure in acute PACG.However, the complications in phacotrabeculectomy were more than staged ones.Trabeculectomy followed by phacoemulsification and foldable intraocular lens implantation is safe and effective.
