| Objective: The aim of this study was, under the help of Dolphin Imaging software(v11.7) in cephalometric tracing, to analyse the changes in mandibular hard and soft tissue profile with the patients after bilateral sagittal split ramus osteotomy, to evaluate the effect of of surgery. Methods: In Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Affiliated No.1 Hospital of Fu Jian Medical University, collected 24 patients with the skeleton class â…¢and mandibular protrusion historically, underwent the bilateral sagittal split ramus osteotomy and Lefortâ… osteotomy, from Jan, 2010 to April, 2015. Lateral cephalograms were taken preoperatively and postoperatively. Used Dolphin Imaging Software to evaluate the cephalograms. The result was statistical analyzed by SPSS.Result: The specific soft-hard tissue measurement were used to measure the lateral cephalograms, 28 items were picked up to measure the mandible change after surgery. Significant changes were found in skeletal measurement, which is Gonial/Jaw Angle(Ar-Go-Me), N-B(HP)(P<0.05), SNB(P<0.05), ANB(P<0.05), L1 – NB(P<0.05) and Wits Appraisal(P<0.01).While significant changes were found in soft tissue measurement, which is LLProtrusion(LL-Sn Pg’)(P<0.01), Si-(Li Pog’)(P<0.001), Facial Convexity(G’-Sn-Po’)(P<0.05).Conlusion: In the management of mandibular protrusion, the clinical effect after bilateral sagittal split ramus osteotomy was significant, not only the relative position of maxilla and mandible was improved after surgery, but also the lateral profile was better than before, especially the low lip and the labiomental fold area, the facial form was more harmonious than presurgery. During the use of Dolphin Imaging in cephalometric tracing, it could effectively obtain the measurement value, and easily switched with different cephalometric analysis. |
