Objective: To study the modified new operating methods by the surgical treatment of obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrom, effectively reducing the occurrence of postoperative complications and improving the tolerability and the surgical acceptability of postoperative patients. Methods: 50 cases making a definite diagnosis of oropharyngeal cavity blocking OSAHS(Ⅱtype), randomly divided into experimental group(25 cases) and control group(25 cases), the experimental group by extending the soft palate incision on the upper pole of the tonsil; Control group using H-UPPP operating method, according to the polysomnography(PSG) of preoperation and postoperation June, analysing and comparing the changes of the curative effect with preoperation and postoperation in patients, to observe the postoperative incision bleeding, pain and the incidence of postoperative patients with nasopharyngeal food regurgitation and aspiration, open rhinolalia and secretory otitis media, whether the pharyngeal incision is the scar healing, passing through statistical analysis. Results: The operation process of the two groups of patients is smoothly, the curative effect is obviously improved compared with preoperation and postoperation, after statistics analysis, statistical significant(P<0.05), and curative effect comparison between the two groups has no statistical significance(P>0.05); But in postoperative clinical complications, the difference between the two groups was statistical significant(P<0.05), showing that in experimental group patients postoperative incision is lesser pain, bleeding probability is lower, the emergence of the nasopharyngeal food regurgitation and aspiration or secretory otitis media is low, without a drying throat, foreign body sensation and the pharyngeal cavity stenosis. Conclusion: extending the soft palate incisions of the upper pole tonsil and retaining the integrity of the uvula andsoft palate free edge to surgically treat OSAHS compared with H-UPPP operation, operation process is more close to the functional treatment, the postoperative curative effect is the same, but the postoperative complications of the former obviously reduce, postoperative patients are well tolerated, having better clinical significance.
