Objective To investigate the expression of brain natriuretic peptide(BNP) protein and BNP m RNA in rat myocardial tissue in a rat model of stress cardiomyopathy and explore the role of BNP in SCD result from stress cardiomyopathy. Methods Rat models of stress cardiomyopathy were established. The expression of BNP protein and BNP m RNA in myocardial tissue after stress cardiomyopathy were detected by immtmohistochemistry and RT-PCR.Results 1.The serum cortisol concentrations in the model group(58.317±9.688nmol/L)is higher than the control group(29.712 ± 4.093nmol/L)(P<0.05).2.The serum BNP concentrations in the model group(95.088 ± 9.925ug/L)is obviously higher than the control group(60.825 ± 7.829ug/L),there were statistical differences between the two groups(P<0.05).Immunohistochemistry shows that positive staining of BNP in myocardial cytoplasm.According to semiquantitative analysis,it shows that the expression of BNP protein(0.169 ± 0.279) is higher in models than in the control group(0.144 ±0.572)(P<0.05).The expression of BNP m RNA of model group(-2.054 ±0.909)increased,there were statistical differences too(P<0.001).Conclusion In stress cardionmyopatgy disease model, myocardial tissue protein of BNP and BNP m RNA were upregulated. This factor may be involved in the acute stress leads to a complex process of sudden cardiac death.Investigating the expression of BNP protein and BNP m RNA in myocardial tissue may provide a new century to evaluate the sudden cardiac death resulting from stress cardiomyopathy for forensic pathologists.
