Objective: To compare the safety、efficacy and minimally invasive between laparoscopic—assisted resection( LAP) and open resection(OPEN) for gastrointestinal stromal tumor(GISI)by systematic review and meta-analysis.Methods: The English literature comparing LAP and open resection(OPEN) for GISIs publicly published from January 2004 to March 2014 were searched from several international online databases(Pubmed、Elsevier、SPRINGER、The Cochrane Library). After screening for inclusion, data extraction, and quality assessment,Meta-analysis was conducted by the Review Manager 5.2 software. Results: There are Twelve studies meeting the inclusion criteria for meta—analysis. The total sample size of these studies was 719 cases,of whom,345 cases underwent LAP and 374 cases were subjected to OPEN.Compared to OPEN,LAP not only experienced shorter time of postoperative flatus(P=0.04),liquid(P<0.00001) and hospital stay(P<0.00001),but also experienced less postoperative complications(P=0.0004) and recurrence rate(P=0.005). The number of operative time and intraoperative blood loss were similar between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion: LAP is a safe, minimally invasive and feasible procedure and has a good short-term effect.
