The function of ankle greatly affected the quality of the life activities.Total ankle replacement is another feasible method for the patients who need tibiotalar arthrodosis, which can significantly relieve pain caused by joint damage. It can improve gait, restore normal ankle joint function,which have a broad prospect.Due to the development and improvement on the third generation of ankle prosthesis, the operation success rate and survival rate of prosthesis is significantly improved. However, compared to the total hip arthroplasty,the survival rate of ankle prosthesis is still at a low level. The failure include the loosening of prosthesis, infection and pain etc. The change in contact way and limit after reconstruction and the improper fixation could be the reason of failure. So the design theory and method of new ankle proshesis is one of the important topics in ankle replacement research field.This research is based on the anatomical parameter of ankle joint,expounds the method of digital measurement. It shows how to design and optimize the parameters and structure of ankle prosthesis. Besides,assumed a design of adjustable ankle fixing device which is similar to the navigation device used in ankle replacement surgery, to standardize the coordinary of digital measurement of ankle parameter.18 cases of foot CT with 30 anatomical parameters were measured in the project. The measurement result provides strong data support for the ankle prosthesis design.Considering the application of 3D printing technology in other areas,it is a good choice to use 3D printing techonology in the design of the articular surface of ankle prosthesis. On the other hand, use the conclusionarranged by digital measurment to disign other part of ankle prosthesis.After that, it is considered to use finite element simulation to check weather the designed ankle prosthesis is good or not. Based on the analysis of the data calculated by finite element software, trying to figure out the direction of optimization and improvement.
