| ObjectiveTo observe the effect of the treatment of massage combined with EMG biofeedback on spastic hemiplegia of upper limb after stroke by using the Ashworth evaluation method, the modified limbs simplified Fugl-Meyer motor function score, daily life ability(Barthel index). To further explore the mechanism in the treatment of spastic hemiplegia, and to lay the foundation of further clinical promotion.MethodAll patients who meet the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into treatment group and control group, 29 cases in the treatment group, and 22 cases in the control group. The treatment group treated by massage combined with EMG biofeedback therapy, and control group was treated with massage therapy. There were no significant difference in the age, sex, course of disease, the hemiplegic side, nerve function damage assessment before the treatment between the two groups(P>0.05),and they were comparable. To evaluate the effect of massage combined with EMG biofeedback by using the Ashworth evaluation method, the modified limbs simplified Fugl-Meyer motor function score, daily life ability(Barthel index).ResultsTo compare the limb spasticity by using the modified Ashworth evaluation method between the two groups of patients. Before the treatment, there were no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05),and they were comparable. After the treatment, the accumulated rate of II – IV patients were decreased in both groups. It means that the muscle tension of the patients in both groups were decreased. The statistical analysis represent that the treatment group had statistical significance before and after the treatment(P<0.05),but the control had no statistical significance before and after the treatment(P<0.05).It means that the treatment had effect on improving the spasms of the patients in treatment group, and the treatmen had no effect in the control group. To compare the upper limb function by using the modified limbs simplified Fugl-Meyer motor function score. Before the treatment, there were no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05),and they were comparable. After the treatment, both group make a comparison within group, and it had statistical significance before and after the treatment(P<0.05).It represented that both treatment therapies had obvious effect in improving the patients’ function of upper limb. After the treatment, the comparison between the two groups represented that they had statistical significance(P<0.05),it means that the effect of the treatment group was better than the control group. To compare the daily life ability by using the Barthel index between the two groups of patients. Before the treatment, there were no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05),and they were comparable. After the treatment, both group make a comparison within group, and it had statistical significance before and after the treatment(P<0.05).It represented that both treatment therapies had obvious effect in improving the patients’ daily life ability. After the treatment, the comparison between the two groups represented that they had statistical significance(P<0.05),it means that the effect of the treatment group was better than the control group. It had effect in both groups of treatment therapies, and they had significant difference after statistical analysis, and it represents that the effect of the treatment group was better than the control group.ConclusionThe results of the study show that after the treatment both group had a certain degree of improvement in limb spasticity, upper limb function and daily life ability. And the he effect of the treatment group was better than the control group. And at the same time this study makes a combination of the massage and the modern rehabilitation theory, technology. And expounded the basic principles of massage and EMG biofeedback in the treatment of spastic hemiplegia of upper limb after stroke. from the TCM and Western Medicine point of view. To make up for the traditional medicine in the short board of spastic hemiplegia patients in evaluation during the rehabilitation process. And further standardized in the treatment process, point selection, intensity, direction and frequency of operation skill in manipulation maneuver. It had obvious effect in the treatment of spastic hemiplegia after stroke by using the treatment of massage combined with EMG biofeedback. And it is a safe, effective treatment, which was good for clinical application. |
