The Analysis Between The TCM Constitution And Psychological Factors Of Tumor Patients

With the development of science and technology, people’s living tempo accelerated gradually. Due to many concurrent factors such as environmental pollution, viral injury and psychological factors, the global cancer incidence and mortality rate increased year by year. Especially in our country, research has shown that the incidence of malignant tumors was 235.23/100 thousand, more men than women, and it had became the main diseases endangering our national health.This article is aimed to quest the relationship between the TCM constitution and the mental state in tumor patients and provide evidences for the diagnosis, treatment and prevention from tumor via the method of investigating the type of Traditional Chinese Medicine constitutions of the cancer patients with the help of the TCM constitution scale, doing psychological evaluations for them and identifying their mental types.This survey collected 180 tumor patients with their physical information and TCM constitution information by the means of questionnaires and the means of respondents filling in the questionnaires voluntarily, and all above are on the basis of respondents informed consent. Scientific assessment method is used to identify the patient’s TCM constitution types and mental types. Also we record some general information of respondents. And then input the data into the computer and process statistical analysis.The study found that the TCM constitution types of most tumor patients are Qi-deficiency constitution and Yang-deficiency constitution, and the number of cases are53 and 43 respectively. And the number of abnormal psychology cases, from more to less, are anxiety in 69 examples, depression in 46 examples and compulsion in 19 examples. By the study of the relationship between TCM constitution and mental state, we found that the constitution types in 171 patients with psychological abnormality, cases from more to less, are Qi-deficiency constitution.The distribution of TCM constitution in tumor patients is statistically different, and the most common are Qi-deficiency constitution and Yang-deficiency constitution. Similarly, the statistical difference exists in the mental state distribution, and the most common are anxiety and depression. They all have relationships with age, gender, etc. Most tumor patients with disordered constitutions have psychological problems, and the most of which are anxietyand depression. In this paper, we discussed the relationship between TCM constitution types and mental factors, which may provide assistance for the diagnosis, treatment and prevention from tumor.
