Clinical Observation Of Puyuanhewei Capsule Combined With Standard Triple Therapy In Treating Helicobacter Pylori Associated Chronic Gastritis

Objective:This research aims to discuss whether Puyuanhewei capsule could improve the therapeutic effect in curing Helicobacter pylori-associated gastritis by comparing the eradication rates of Hp, clinical symptoms, adverse effects ect. of both experimental group which use Puyuanhewei capsule together with standard triple therapy and control group which use standard triple therapy.Method:The 100 clinical cases all come from Digestive Department in Optical Valley School District of Hubei Provincial Hospital of TCM from February,2014 to February, 2015 which was divided into experimental group and control group in average. Control group: Pantoprazole sodium enteric capsule(po. 40 mg bid), Amoxicilin potassium Clavulanate(po. 1828 mg bid.), Clarithromycin sustained-release capsule(po. 0.5g bid). Experimental group: The same as control group but add Puyuanhewei capsule(po. 1g tid.). The courses of treatment are both 14 days. First evaluate there is no significant differences between two groups in general data and clinical symptoms before treatment. After the treatment, evaluate the clinical symptoms and adverse effects to compare the therapeutic effects of two groups. The eradication of Hp is astandard of western medicine while the Chinese medicine evaluate by clinical symptom scores. The comparison occurred from both western medicine and Chinese medicine to see if there is a significant difference which implies maybe the therapeutic effect of experimental group is better than that of control group.Result:① The eradication of Hp of experimental group is 84% and the control group’s is 64%. The chi square test shows χ2=5.198,P=0.023<0.05, which suggests a significant difference, that is to say, the therapeutic effect of experimental group is better than control group’s;② From the view of Chinese medicine clinical symptom score: The experimental group had a total effectiveness rate of 98% while the control group’s is 80%. The rank sum test shows that P=0.000<0.05, which implies the experimental group’s total therapeutic effect is better than control group;③ From the view of single clinical symptom effectiveness rate, the rank sum test gives a result that experimental group has a better therapeutic effect in epigastric pain, hiccup and fart, abdominal distention and thoracic distention than control group because the P values of those 4 clinical symptoms all less than 0.05 while the P values of nausea and vomiting, loss of appetite and poor stool are larger than 0.05 which means the therapeutic effects to those 3 clinical symptoms of two groups are almost the same;④ Comparing the adverse effects of two groups, the experimental group has a less incidence rate with the evidence that the chi square test’s worked out result gives P value(0.046) that less than 0.05. This proves Puyuanhewei capsule together with standard triple therapy could reduce the incidence rate of adverse effect better.Conclusion: ① The therapeutic effect of Puyuanhewei capsuletogether with standard triple therapy is better than standard triple therapy in terms of the eradication rate of Hp; ② The therapeutic effect of Puyuanhewei capsule together with standard triple therapy is better than standard triple therapy in terms of the total effectiveness rate; ③ The therapeutic effect of Puyuanhewei capsule together with standard triple therapy has a better therapeutic effect in epigastric pain, hiccup and fart, abdominal distention and thoracic distention than standard triple therapy while the therapeutic effects to nausea and vomiting, loss of appetite and poor stool are almost the same;④ Puyuanhewei capsule together with standard triple therapy could reduce the incidence rate of adverse effect better.
