Objective:To explore clinical curative efficacy of double locking compression plate fixation in treatment of femoral shaft fractures in adults. Methods:Totally 88 patients with femoral shaft fractures treated by the locking compression plate in Affiliated Hospital of Yanbian University were retrospectively analyzed from September 2012 to March 2014. According to the treatment methods, all patients were divided into single plate treatment group 43 cases and double plate treatment group 45 cases. Comparison of two groups of indicators which include operation time, intraoperative bleeding volume, fracture healing time, postoperative infection, internal fixator loosening or fracture, malunion, knee joint dysfunction and so on. Its treatment effect was evaluated by HSS knee joint function score standard, Karlstrom-Olerud femoral fracture curative effect evaluation standard, the data statistical analysis was carried out with SPSS 19.0 statistics software.Results:88 patients were followed up for 12 to 30 months, averaging 20 months. In single plate treatment group, operation time was 91.54±9.81min, intraoperative bleeding volume was 411.48±30.35ml, in double plate treatment group, operation time was 98.46±10.14min, intraoperative bleeding volume was 428.27±32.16ml, statistical analysis and t test were proceeded between the two groups, the difference was not statistically significant (P>0.05). In single plate treatment group, hospitalized time was 13.02±1.63d, fracture healing time was 115.89±10.75d, in double plate treatment group, hospitalized time was 12.96±1.58d, fracture healing time was 116.27±11.32d, statistical analysis and t test were proceeded between the two groups, the difference was not statistically significant (P>0.05). In single plate treatment group, incidence of postoperative complications was 27.91%, in double plate treatment group, incidence of postoperative complications was 11.11%, statistical analysis and x 2 test were proceeded between the two groups, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). According to HSS knee joint function score standard, the excellent and good rate in single plate treatment group was 76.74%, the excellent and good rate in double plate treatment group was 93.33%, statistical analysis and χ2 test were proceeded between the two groups, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). According to Karlstrom-Olerud femoral fracture curative effect evaluation standard, the excellent and good rate in single plate treatment group was 74.42%, the excellent and good rate in double plate treatment group was 91.11%, statistical analysis and χ2 test were proceeded between the two groups, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion:Double locking compression plate fixation in treatment of femoral shaft fractures in adults, fixed more firmly, can early functional exercise, can obviously reduce the postoperative complications, it has evident treatment effectiveness, scientificity and feasibility, and worthy of clinical popularizing application.
