ObjectiveReview of the clinical data of 200 patients with pituitary adenoma, include age,sex and operation methods,to explore the clinical characteristics, diagnosis and surgical treatment of pituitary adenomas. On this basis, gradually accumulate experience of pituitary adenomas in this city, adjust the treatment strategies at any time, in order to achieve more satisfactory therapeutic effect.MethodCollected 200 patients with pituitary adenoma for retrospective analyze in the 1st affiliated hospital of neurosurgery department of Kunming Medical University from Sep.2012 to Sep.2014,all the patients has been diagnosed with pituitary adenomas by pathological. The information of patient include general information, clinical feature, endocrine examination, imaging findings and pathological results, selection of surgical methods, postoperative complications and its treatment.ResultOf the 200 patients,93 male while 107 female, whose age from 18 years old to 72,the most common patient was from 20 to 50 years old.The chief complaints were defect of eyesight, headache, menostasia, galactorrhea and et.In addition, there are a few patient with acromegalia and central obesity. The course lated for 1d to 10 years.Multiple hormone cell adenomas(26.5%) and prolactin hormone cell adenomas(25.5%) were the most pathology types.CT and MRI performed the primary method to discover abnormality of the pituitary adnoma.Of the 200 patients,184 patients have treated by "transsphenoidal of craniotomy pituitary tumor resection",there have 95 patient with visual disorde preoperation,82 patients have been improvement after surgery,107 patients have been discoved with postoperative complications;Another 16 patients have treated by "Transcranial pituitary tumor resection".there have 10 patient with visual disorde preoperation,5 patients have been improvement after surgery,14 patients have been discoved with postoperative complications. The symptom relief rate after surgery was 91.5%,the cure rate was 85.5%,the recurrence rate was 4.0%,and the mortality rate was 0.5%.Conclusions1.Pituitary adenoma incidence in our region suggests that female patients are more than male, age from 20-50 possess largest patients amountThe main clinical symptoms of in-patients is headache, decreased visual acuity and visual field defect, another is endocrine abnormality. Sexual hypoftinction is the main feature of male patients, and amenorrhea, galactorrhea is the female patients peculiar.2. Postop-erative pathological data show, prolactin hormone cell adenoma and multiple hormone cell adenomas is the major type of pituitary adenoma. In addition to the incidence of prolactin hormone cell adenoma female is significantly higher than male, the other type of pituitary adenoma had no significant gender differences. 3.Confirmed by statistical, the improvement of patients clinical symptoms and complications have obvious correlation with operation method.Compared transsphenoidal of craniotomy pituitary tumor resection with transcranial pituitary tumor resection,it has adventages of little injury, short operation time, fewer complications, short time of postoperative recovery and the extremely lower surgical mortality,so unilateral endonasal transsphenoid approach is the most preferred operative method in treatment of pituitary adenomas.
