Objective: To evaluate the serum ischemia-modified albumin level and its correlation with cardiovascular risk factors in obese children, and to discuss the prediction of IMA for the risk of cardiovascular events. Methods: Selected 67 obese children(30 males, 37 females) in pediatric ward of the First Affiliated Hospital of Dalian Medical University from September 2013 to December 2014. 128 cases(59 males, 69 females) in the control group of children.Recorded the sex, age, height, weight, waist circumference and hip circumference of all the subjects. Blood pressure, fasting blood glucose, fasting insulin, triglyceride, total cholesterol, high density lipoprotein, low density lipoprotein and serum ischemia- modified albumin(IMA) level was measured in the morning. Recorded all of the index results, and then data was analyzed by SPSS20.0 statistical software processing.Result:1. The comparison of gender in control group and obese group has no significant difference(X2=0.031, P > 0.05); the average age of obese group(9.64±2.27) years and the average age of control group(9.31 ± 2.17) years have no significant differences(P > 0.05); the average height of obese group(1.35±0.14) m and the average height of control group(1.32±0.13) m have no significant differences(P >0.05), thus, the two groups of data were comparable; The average body mass index of obese group(24.01±3.28) and the average body mass index of control group(16.91± 0.74) have statistically significant differences(P < 0.05); the average waistcircumference of obese group(88.74±9.69) cm and the average waist circumference of control group(58.24±4.86)cm have statistically significant differences(P < 0.05);the average hip circumference of obese group(99.22±8.70) cm and the average hip circumference of control group(74.74 ± 7.45) cm have statistically significant differences(P < 0.05).2. The average TG of obese group(1.39 ± 0.52) mmol/L and the average TG of control group(0.845 ± 0.21) mmol/L have statistically significant differences(P <0.05); the average TC of obese group(4.36±1.56) mmol/L and the average TC of control group(3.62±0.57)mmol/L have statistically significant differences(P < 0.05);the average HDL of obese group(0.89 ± 0.16) mmol/L and the average HDL of control group(1.35±0.52) mmol/L have statistically significant differences(P < 0.05);the average LDL of obese group(2.73 ± 1.12) mmol/L and the average LDL of control group(2.05±0.39) mmol/L have statistically significant differences(P < 0.05);the average FIN of obese group(14.93±1.48) m IU/L and the average FIN of control group(8.06 ± 1.57) m IU/L have statistically significant differences(P < 0.05); the average HOMA-IR of obese group(3.38 ± 0.68) and the average HOMA-IR of control group(1.71±0.45) have statistically significant differences(P < 0.05); the average SBP of obese group(120.36±7.36) mm Hg and the average SBP of control group(103.46±4.35) mm Hg have statistically significant differences(P < 0.05); the average DBP of obese group(82.01 ±6.11) mm Hg and the average age of control DBP(69.38 ± 2.96) mm Hg have statistically significant differences(P < 0.05); the average FPG of obese group(5.04±0.77) mmol/L and the average FPG of control group(4.81±0.68) mmol/L have on significant differences(P > 0.05);3. Obese group in IMA with an average of 0.53 ± 0.05 ABSU and control group in IMA with an average of 0.42±0.06 ABSU, the difference was statistically significant;4. The level of IMA and waist circumference(WC), triglyceride(TG), total cholesterol(TC), low density lipoprotein(LDL), fasting blood glucose(FPG), insulin resistance index(HOMA-IR), systolic blood pressure(SBP), diastolic blood pressure(DBP) levels were positively correlated(r= 0.720; r= 0.671; r= 0.377; r= 0.385; r=0.529; r= 0.779; P < 0.05); the level of IMA and high density lipoprotein(HDL) wasnegatively correlated(r=-0.533, P < 0.05).Conclusion:1. The level of TG, TC, LDL, FIN, HOMA-IR, SBP, DBP in obese children was significantly higher than that in normal children, and the level of HDL in obese children was significantly lower than that in normal children, illustrating that obese children have higher risk of cardiovascular events;2. The level of IMA in the obese group was significantly higher than that in control group; IMA was positively correlated with WC, TG, TC, LDL, FPG, HOMA-IR, SBP and DBP levels, and was negatively correlated with HDL levels, illustrating that IMA is associated with cardiovascular risk factors.
