Objective:To compare the impact of moxibustion combined with resistance training and simple resistance training for postmenopausal osteoporosis in bone mineral density, bone metabolism level and quality of daily life.Methods:90 Women with postmenopausal osteoporosis were randomly divided into basic treatment group, resistance training group and moxibustion combined with resistance training group, there are 30 cases in each group. Basic treatment group were only given medication therapy. Patients in resistance training group in patients received resistance training with thera band after basic treatment. Patients in moxibustion combined with resistance exercise group received moxibustion therapy apart from resistance training and basic therapy. Patients in resistance training group and moxibustion combined with resistance training group recieved treatment of three times a week for 6 months. Before and after the intervention, elbow vein blood from all the patients on a balanced diet and fasting condition were extracted to test serum E2, ALP and TRAP-5b level, and then the lumbar spine and hip bone mineral density(BMD) and Osteoporosis Quality of Life Scale(OQOLS) score were calculated. After intervention for 6 months, the test data of three groups were compared and statistically analyzed, then results and conclusions were drew.Results:1. BMD:after intervention, the lumbar spine L1-L4 and hip BMD were significantly increased than before (P<0.05); Compared with group A, group B and group C showed higher L1-L4 lumbar spine and hip BMD level after intervention, the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05); compared with group B, hip BMD improvement of patients in group C was more significant(P<0.05).2. Bone metabolism and estrogen levels:after intervention, serum ALP and TRAP-5b were lower than before of patients in all the three groups(P<0.05). Compared with group A, the ALP and TRAP-5b levels were lower in group B and group C, the difference was statistically significant(P <0.05, P<0.05); Compared with group B, TRAP-5b of patients in group C showed lower level, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The E2 levels of patients among three groups were not significantly different after intervention(P> 0.05).3. Quality of life:quality of life in the three groups of patients are improved in terms of dimensions and physical dimensions (P<0.05), in terms of satisfaction for the role of activity and social dimensions, patients in resistance training group and moxibustion combined with resistance training group were significantly improved than before(P<0.05). After intervention, there was no significant difference between group B and group C.Conclusion:1. Resistance training can significantly improve the lumbar spine and hip bone mineral density, changed the high turnover bone metabolism, and finally significantly improve the quality of life in patients with postmenopausal osteoporosis.2. Moxibustion combined with resistance training can significantly improve the lumbar spine and hip bone mineral density, changed the high turnover bone metabolism, and then improved the quality of life in patients with postmenopausal osteoporosis. In the aspects of osteoclast level, moxibustion combined with resistance training is bound to be better than simple resistance training.
