Gochnatia decora (Kurz) A. L. Cabrera, belonging to the genus Gochnatia, family Compositae, is only distributed in southern Yunnan. In the folk of Lincang and Xishuangbanna areas, its bark is usually used to treat wounds, gunshot wounds, cough. So far, the chemical constituents of six species from Gochnatia in America have been studied by foreign scholars. The results showed that those plants are rich in sesquiterpenes, sesquiterpene dimers, and diterpenoids. In order to find more lead compounds with anti-inflammatory activities based on its traditional effect,30 compounds, including six new diterpenoids, were isolated from petroleum ether extract and ethyl acetate extract extract of G. decora. All of compounds were isolated from this genus for the first time. Further, some terpenoids was tested their activities using the model of lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced nitric oxide production in RAW264.7 cells.
