Objective To explore the correlation of acute coronary syndrome (ACS) between Korean-chinese nationality and Han nationality patients in Yanbian area by detecting changes in the plasma matrix metalloproteinase 1,3 (MMP-1,3)and tissue inhibition-1 of matrix metalloproteinase (TIMP-1) level. Methods The study includes a total of 139 patients who are selected from hospitalized patients conducting coronary angiography in our department from June to December 2014. Based on clinical manifestations and angiographic results groups are done as follows:there are 42 cases patients in control group (17 cases of Han nationality,25 cases of Korean-chinese nationality), which are hospitalized with the reason of chest pain, but showed normal by coronary angiography; there are 97 cases in Group ACS which are subdivided into unstable angina (UA),46 cases (29 cases of Han nationality,17 cases of Korean-chinese nationality), without significantly increased serum cardiac markers and blood vessels stenosis in the range between 50% to 90% showed by coronary angiography, and acute myocardial infarction (AMI),51 cases (32 cases of Han nationality,19 cases of Korean-chinese nationality), with significantly increased serum cardiac markers and 100% blood vessels occlusion showed by coronary angiography. Experiments make use of a sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) to do the test. All data are statistically analyzed by SPSS19.0 software, and considered statistically significant when P <0.05.Results1 Compared with the control group, MMP-1, MMP-3, TIMP-1 and MMP-1/TIMP-1、 MMP-3/TIMP-1 levels are significantly increased in Group ACS, subgroup UA, subgroup AMI and the difference is statistically significant (P<0.05). Compared subgroup AMI with subgroup UA, the difference is statistically insignificant because the elevated level of MMP-1 is relatively unobvious (P> 0.05); but the elevated level of MMP-3, TIMP-1 and MMP-3/TIMP-1 are more obvious, which is statistically significant (P<0.05).2 In the UA subgroup, there is no correlation between MMP-1-、MMP-3 and TIMP-1(P> 0.05). In the AMI subgroup, there is no correlation between MMP-1 and TIMP-1(P> 0.05), however, there is statistically significant correlation between MMP-3 with TIMP-1(r=0.44,P<0.05).3 In the normal control group, UA subgroup, and AMI subgroup, the difference in the level of MMP-1, MMP-3, TIMP-1 between Korean and Han patients is not statistically significant (P>0.05).Conclusions1 The levels of MMP-1, MMP-3, TIMP-1 are related to the plaque instability of AS, and the level of MMP-3 may be correlated with clinical classification ACS.2 The disordered balance between MMPs and TIMPs is associated with ACS.3 It can be not believed that Korean-chinese nationality and Han nationality patients in Yanbian area are correlated with the levels of MMP-1, MMP-3, TIMP-1 within the different groups.
