Objective:The aim of the this study was to explorer the relationship between emotionstatus and the autonomic nervous activity in breast cancer. To study heart ratevariability differences between patients with or without emotional disorder. To studythe effects of aromatherapy and breathing regulation training on heart rate variabilityin Patients with breast cancer.Methods:100breast cancer patients were selected from the cancer center in the firsthospital of Jilin university, they received the general investigation and DASS21questionnaire,and then short-term (5min) heart rate variability as baselinevalues.Ninety-five patients voluntarily accepted aromatherapy, heart rate variabilitywas measured after using Tiscrazy Aroma5minutes later.46patients voluntarilyreceived breathing regulation training, they exercised for one day bythemselves.Short-term heart rate variability was measured before interventions andin the intervening next day.The dependent parameters of HRV analysiswere:SDNN,RMSSD,HR,VLF,LF,HF,TP and LF/HF.Results:1. The mental health questionnaire surveys were conducted among100breastcancer patients,94of them had successfully completed the questionnaires, the resultsshowed that4.3%of mild depression,4.3%of mild anxiety, respectively1.1%ofmoderate depression and mild anxiety.2. In the rest state,SDNN and HF in patients with breast cancer weresignificantly lower than normal, there was no significant difference (P>0.05) onheart rate variability between patients with emotional disorders and patients without emotional disorders, but SDNN,RMSSD and LF in patients with mood disorderswere lower than those of patients without emotional disorders.3. SDNN,LnLF,LnTP and LnLF/HFwere significantly increased in breastcancer patients after respiratory regulation training, and the differences werestatistically significant (p <0.05).While,HR was reduced, and the differences werestatistically significant (p <0.05).4. There had no significant difference in heart rate variability before and afterthe intervention of aromatherapy.Conclusions:1. Questionnaire to assess the proportion of breast cancer patients with mooddisorders is low, suggest that breast cancer patients have the personalitycharacteristics of high disguise.2. Heart rate variability show that breast cancer patients with emotionaldisorders have autonomic nerve dysfunction,it can be used as a reliable evaluatingmethod on mood disorders such as depression and anxiety, and combined with thequestionnaire survey will be more comprehensive.3. Breathing regulation training can improve the autonomic nerve function andthe quality of life in patients with breast cancer.4. The effect of short-term aromatherapy is not significant, further researchesof long-term are needed.
