Objective: To explore the role of clipping treatment for blood blister-likeaneurysms at the supraclinoid portion of the internal carotid artery.Method: Take retrospective analysis of the clinical characteristics, therapeuticprocess, follow-up visits of6cases which treated with clipping surgery fromOctober2013to Feburary2015. Patients comprised5female and1malepatients whose mean age was45.5(range from31to52). PreoperativeHunt-Hess graded II in1patient and graded III in5patients. Before operation, estimate the characteristics and collateral circulation of the aneurysms by DSAexamination. Design the operation reasonably according to the characteristicsand collateral circulation of the aneurysms. Carry out the operation and followup the cases after treatment by CTA or DSA.Result: Each case takes the open surgery successfully saving the parent arteries,including5only clipping treatment cases and1wrapping and clipping treatmentcase. Because of the proper operation and temporary occlusion, no aneurysmrapture occurred during the surgery in all6cases.2cases get parent arterystenosis without ischemic symptoms.5cases GOS grades5points,1case GOS grades4points.Conclusion:1. Clipping is one of the feasible treatment for BBA.2. Take the DSA examination as soon as possible and estimate the collateralcirculation if one case is probably BBA.3. Design the operation elaborately according to the results of DSA andestimate the necessary of tripping and bypass.4. Clipping part of the parent artery to increase the stability of the clamp and theclipping part of the artery depends on the collateral circulation and the bloodflow volume.
