Antioxidants are the active components which can eliminate free radicals and inhibit lipid peroxidation. The capability of preventing diseases and delaying senility etc of many natural antioxidants such as vitamin E, vitamin C and β-carotene has attracted widespread attention among the public. In this study, the antioxidant activity of30plants were screened. Alcoholic extractions of Galla Chinensis、Radix Sanguisorbae^Radix Paeoniae Rubra、Caulis Spatholobi、Polygonum Cuspidate have higher antioxidant activity, and Galla Chinensis was much higher than the others, the IC50was3.44μg/mL.The extraction conditions of the antioxidants from Galla Chinensis were as follows: adding eight times volume of80%alcohol and ultrasonic extracting two times at the temperature50℃, the power70W and extraction time30min. The yield of antioxidant extraction was51.8%.The conditions of separating and purifying the antioxidants from Galla Chinensis were as follows:through the experiments of quiet state and dynamic state with the AB-8macroporous resin, the saturation adsorption of AB-8resin for the extractions of Galla Chinensis was0.08mg/g, the antioxidants could be desorbed with three times volume of60%alcohol, we preliminary identified that the antioxidants was phenol, then the total content of phenol was31.54%.The reducing capacity and superoxide anion scavenging capacity of the extract from Galla Chinensis were higher than Vc, DPPH and hydroxyl radical scavenging capacity were lower than Vc, and their anti-lipid peroxidation was lower than VE.
