Objective To explore the relationship of liver microenvironment, and liver metastasis in colorectal cancer. Methods The analysis included113colorectal cancer patients with liver cirrhosis who underwent surgical treatment at the Tumor Hospital of Guangxi Medical University between June2011and February2014. The control included233patients who were free from liver cirrhosis. The controls were matched with the treatment group according to sex, age, and grade of differentiation in liver texture. The incidences of synchronous liver metastases in the two groups were compared. The analysis included a comparison of55colorectal cancer patients with liver cirrhosis who were diagnosed stage III after radical operations with110colorectal cancer patients without liver damage who were diagnosed stage111after radical operation. The incidence of heterochrony liver metastases were compared through follow-up examinations. Results The incidences of synchronous liver metastases in the two groups were10.6%(12/113) in group A and15.8%(47/233) in group B. There was no significant difference (P=0.052). By the end of the follow-up period, the incidences of heterochrony liver metastases in the cirrhotic and non-cirrhosis groups were10%(5/55) and21.8%(24/110) respectively, showing a significant difference (P<0.05). The time of heterochrony liver metastases also showed a significant difference between the groups (P<0.05).Conclusion cirrhosis cause less liver metastasis in colorectal cancer...
