With the rapid development of nursing science and change of nursing mode,it’s an important path to improve the quality of professional care to ensure patientssafety, improve nursing quality and strengthen scientific management. The riskmanagement mechanism is not perfect and there is no effective risk managementorganization at present in China. Many managers pay much attention to the results inthe risk management of the link, but often ignore the details of management andfind out the basic way to solve the nursing risk events. Generally there are threefactors result in nursing risk events, sach as the national policy factors、relatedsystem of medical institutions and nursing staff’s、 patients and their families etc.Based on the currently universality and severity of nursing risk events, it’simportant to implement effective management in the hospital to improve the safetyawareness of nursing staff and risk management capabilities, to ensure the safety ofpatients payed great attention to by domestic and international scholars. Therefore it’s a hot topic to establish a perfect risk management system innursing managers, improve nurses’ risk areness and risk behavior ability, strengthenthe emergency events being handled, reduce the incidence of risk events. Nursing riskmanagement is a comprehensive and systematic risk management evaluationsystem, help nursing staff to identify risk ability, improve the quality of hospitalcare,to ensure patients safety and satisfaction. This study recognize all of related factors that affect patient safety target, andassess scientificly the frequency of risk occurrence or the consequencesseverity, detect the occurrence degree. Then the risk management project wasdetermined, and a set of relatively standard, reasonable risk management path wasexplored and established. On the one hand, nurses’ risk awareness and riskmanagement ability were improved from various aspects, on the other hand theincidence rate of hospital risk events were reduced, patients’ safety was ensured, thepatients’ satisfaction and competitiveness of the hospital was improved. Objective:This study was to understand nursing personnel risk awareness and care safetybehavior of the status in siping center hospital, recognize relevant factors that affectpatient safety goals. Three aspects were scientificly assessed, such as riskfrequency occurrence, consequences severity and detect degree of occurance. Then risk management, project was determined to improve the risk awareness orability of nursing staff and the patient’s satisfaction. With deep analysis of the effectof implementing nursing risk management and improving the system, advantagesand deficiencies of current nursing risk management system were cleared andimproved,On the other hand it provides the theory and method basis for the relatedresearch. Methods:Domestic and international databases such as National KnowledgeInfrastructure,NKI,VIP database,PubMed etc. It’s including basic information ofnursing staff and nursing personnel risk perception, the basic situation of theinpatients’ satisfaction and safety management,etc.Epidate3.0is used to establish database, double entry is used to data entry.SPSS18.0is used for data processing. The general data of nursing staff and patientsis to general descriptive. Corresponding statistical methods is adopted depending onthe type of data. The chi-square test and rank and inspection are used mainly onstatistical analysis in this study with P <0.05for statistical significance. By furtherlyimproving the effect of nursing risk management and its system, and thus the riskawareness or risk behavior of nursing staff and patients’ satisfaction was enhanced.Results:1. After implementing risk management, patients’ fall rate, drop bed rate, phlebitis occurrance, patients with deep vein thrombosis rate and safe transport ratewas significantly lower than before (P <0.05), the difference was statisticallysignificant.2. After the implementation of risk management, nursing risk awareness or risk management awareness were enthanced. The top five of them are: check before andafter treatment(100%),check for the key process of transfer (97.2%),handling aftercontacting with blood (94.4%), measures of needle stick injuries (92.6%), checkfor specimen collection (91.3%); The top5lowest of Nursing staff awarenessare:handling to illegal technology (76.8%), potential law problems in nursingprocess (77.7%), pendant measures of drop bed (80.5%),existing prooblems of therisk management factors (81.7%), common risk events (82.4%).3. After implementating risk management, the awareness and capacity of riskmanagement of nursing staff for nursing rules or regulations, special nursingoperation system and illegal technology processing is significantly higher thanbefore (P <0.05), the difference was statistically significant.Through riskmanagement, the awareness of nursing personnel for existing factors in riskmanagement, meaning of risk management, high incidence area of risk events andthe meaning of common risk or nursing risk events to nurses’ injury is significantlyhigher than before (P <0.05), the difference was statistically significant. Nursingstaff’s ability to protective measures to common occupational exposure issignificantly higher than before (P <0.05), the difference was statisticallysignificant. The awareness and execution ability of nursing staff to fall measures, preventing measures of pressure ulcers and measures to drop bed or phlebitis andkey process of transfer check were significantly increased (P <0.05), the differencewas statistically significant.4. After implementating risk management, top5of the highest patients’ satisfactionare: nursing staff dress (98.3%), safety channel of the hospital (88.7%), checkpatients’ identity (86.7%),neat and comfortable hospitalization environment(84.3%),nursing staff hand hygiene (84.1%). The lowest5of satisfaction are: quietward environment (68.7%), hospital equipments (71.6%), leaving after havingmedcine (70.4%),providing a safe education (73.3%),nursing service attitude(74.8%).5.After risk management, knowledge of patients to ward identification, hospital equipments, hospital facilities security, satisfaction of hospital security and hospitalcomplaint channels increased significantly (P <0.05),the difference was statisticallysignificant; After risk management, the patients’satisfaction to nursing staff’consciousness and behavior paying more attention to hand hygiene whileexamination significantly increased (P <0.05), the difference was statisticallysignificant. The patients’satisfaction to nursing staff to provide safe education, leaving after having medication and safe consciousness significantly increased thanbefore(P <0.05), the difference was statistically significant. The overall evaluationto patients’ medical security satisfaction was58.1%before risk management, whileit was84.1%after risk management. It is significantly higher than before (P <0.05),the difference was statistically significant. Conclusions:By comparing patients’ security target before and after implementating nursing riskmanagement in this study, factors affecting the patients’ safety were interved comprehensively, systemicly and standardizedly. And then to improve the quality of care and ensure the safety ofpatients. It can significantly reduce the incidence of adverse events and all kinds of hiddendangers in nursing events and ensure patients’ safety. Effective risk management is one of theimportant measures to guarantee nursing quality. It can significantly improve the patient’ssatisfaction after Implementating risk management,It is an effective measure to improve patientsatisfaction. After risk management, patients’ identification to ward, better equipments, hospitalfacilities, hospital security satisfaction, hospital satisfaction and the complaint channelsignificantly improved than before. It had made great progress of nursing risk management inour hospital. Though it still need to further improve the comprehensive nursing risk managementsystem and mechanism. it is necessary to define the advantages and disadvantages of current riskmanagement, so as to provide more high quality nursing service for patients, improve patientsatisfaction and create nursing brand to enhance the overall competitiveness of the hospital.
