Objective:To systematically assess the effectiveness and safety of ProSeal laryngeal mask(PLMA) compared to endotracheal tube (TT) for airway management in the patientsundergoing gynecological laparoscopic surgery. Methods: Forty gynecological patients with American Socirty of Anesthesiology(ASA) Ⅰ-Ⅱundergoing laparoscopic operation undergeneral lanesthesia were randomly allocted to either PLMA groupor ETT group(n=20).Mean arterial press(MAP),hear rate(HR),arterial partial pressure of end-tidal carbondioxide(PetCO2) were measured bsfore induction of anesthesia(T0),5min after pneumoperitoneum(T1),at30min (T2),60min(T3),and20min (T4)after pneumo peritoneum. The rate of insertion at the firstattempt, incidence and degree of airleak, gastric distention and sore throat were assessed. Results:In group T,HR,MAP after intubation were higher that at the same time in group P(P<0.01).Arterial patial pressure of carbond oxide(PaCO2) before and after pneumoperitoneum weresignificantly higher than Veress(P <0.05) in both group. The correlation of the PetCO2and PaCO2is worstin the T2and T4time period. Throat complications occurred in T group was significantly higher than Pgroup (P <0.05).Conclusion: The ProSeal laryngeal mask airway (PLMA) and endotracheal intubation has the sameeffect in gynecological laparoscopic surgery. The ProSeal laryngeal mask airway induce lessreaction and have few ercomplications of throat after operation in patients undergoinggynaecological laparoacopy operation.
