The Clinical Research Of Du-Moxibustion Across Ginger And Garlic On Electromyography (EMG) Influence Of Paraspinal Muscles In Treating AS

Object: To observe the clinical effect of Du-Moxibustion across ginger and garlic intreating ankylosing spondylitis（AS）, analyze the influence on electromyography ofparaspinal muscles, and to explore a new way and evaluating basis for the treatment ofAS.Method:60patients with AS were divided into a treatment group and a control groupat random.30cases were treated with Du-Moxibustion across garlic and ginger therapy asthe treatment group,while the other30cases were treated with Du-Moxibustion acrossginger as the control group, which were treated once a month for3months. And thenobserved the changes of symptoms, signs and EMG of paraspinal muscles of patientsbefore and after the treatment, and analyzed the numbers with statistic method to drawconclusions.Result:1. Both of the two methods can improve the clinical symptoms（P <0.01）effectively,The effective rate of the treatment group was90％while the control group was80％. Thetreatment group is superior to the control group.2. There was significant difference before and after treatment in each group withsymptom-score comparison （P<0.01）, there was statistical difference after treatmentbetween the two groups with symptom-score comparison （P<0.05）. The treatment groupis superior to the control group.3. There was statistical difference before and after treatment in each group with sign-score comparison （P<0.05）, there was no significant difference after treatmentbetween the two groups with symptom-score comparison （P>0.05）.4. There was statistical difference before and after treatment of the two group with theimprovement of EMG of paraspinal muscles （P<0.05）, there was significant differenceafter treatment between the two groups with the improvement of EMG of paraspinalmuscles（P<0.05）.Conclusion:1. The Du-Moxibustion across ginger and garlic can improve the clinical symptomsand signs of the patients with AS effectively.2. The Du-Moxibustion across ginger and garlic can obviously influence the EMG ofparaspinal muscles of the patients with AS.3. The EMG of paraspinal muscles can reflect the mobility of the lower back of thepatients with AS,and which can evaluate the clinical efficacy for the treatment of AS.
