Objective:To explore the expression levels of ER, PR, FAS and FAS-Land analyze the role of them in the development and progressionof recurrent uterine fibroid. It is aimed to find more sensitive andspecific recurrent fibroid markers to guide the treatment andprevention of uterine fibroid.Methods:100patients,from the department of Obstetrics andGynecology(mean age of37.6±2.8), Second Affiliated Hospital ofJilin University, who needed hysteromyomectomy were dividedrandomly into two groups;50patients who were first time (group F),50patients who were recurrent fibroid(group R). Fibroid tissuespecimens and normal tissue specimens adjacent to tumor wereobtained during operation. The expression of ER, PR, FAS andFAS-L of fibroid tissue and normal tissue adjacent to tumor weredetected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay andimmunohistochemical method. The gray value of ER,PR,FAS and FAS-L were analyzed by Motic Images Advanced3.2;the lower of the gray value, the higherof positive value. The datas were represent with (±s) andanalyzed by spss13.0software(a<0.05).Results:The contents and positive expression intensities of ER and PRin uterine fibroid and normal tissue adjacent to tumor of patientsundergoing myomectomy for the first time were statisticallysignificantly lower than those of patient undergoing myomectomyfor the recurrent fibroid (P<0.01);the contents and positiveexpression intensities of ER and PR in all the patients increasedfrom normal tissue adjacent to tumor for the first time, normal tissueadjacent to recurrent tumor, fibroid tissue for the first time to therecurrent fibroid tissue, there were statistically significantdifferences(P<0.01);the expression levels of ER was positivelycorrelate with PR(r=0.032,P<0.05). The contents and positiveexpression levels of FAS protein and FAS-L protein in50removedfibroid tissue specimens for the first time and50removed recurrentfibroid tissue specimens were statistically significantly higher thanthose in corresponding normal tissue specimens adjacent to tumoror recurrent fibroid (p<0.01);the expression levels of FAS proteinand FAS-L protein in50removed recurrent fibroid tissue specimenswere statistically significantly lower than those in50removed fibroid tissues specimens for the first time(P<0.01)Conclusion:The higher levels of ER and PR resulted from the conjugationof localized E and P with ER and PR in recurrent fibroid tissue andnormal tissue adjacent to tumor may be the relevant factors inrecurrent fibroid. FAS and FAS-L participate in recurrence of uterinefibroid, which are closely correlated with recurrence of uterine.
