Sub-health state is between health and disease. Those who are suffering from sub-health are in a state of low quality. Although there is no clear symptoms of the disease, people don’t feel comfortable in the physical, psychological, social and other aspects. Further more, in sub-health state, people’s vitality, reaction ability and adaptability begin to drop down and sub-health state may cause a variety of diseases. In recent years, due to the accelerated pace of life and the popularity of Internet, the population subject to sub-health is increasing year by year; even more and more young people are suffering from sub-health, especially those who are in colleges. They have become high-risk population of sub-health. College Students often suffer from emotional instability, irritability, memory loss, dizziness, sleepiness, inattention, brain fatigue and other symptoms of sub-health.Sub-health problems are affecting every aspect of students’lives. However, influence factors and their interaction of the college students’sub-health state are not described in detail; nor do researches about it. Analysis of factors that influence college students’sub-health can provide references for improving the population’s health status. This paper studies the sub-health status of students in a university of Shandong province through an investigating questionnaire and evaluates the reliability and validity of it. Survey sample are evaluated synthetically to get their health state. Univariate and multivariate analysis are performed on the data collected. The chi square test is used for univariate factor analysis while for multivariate analysis, health and sub-health are taken as a dependent variable, and those factors that in the univariate analysis have significant effect are taken as independent variables which are converted into discrete values. Logistic regression and decision tree model are established to analyze and forecast the influence factors of sub-health. To build binary logistic model, compute statistics to see whether it is significant for the whole model.Univariate factor analysis shows that, there exist some differences on sub-health issue among students of different gender, grade, study time, exercise and other lifestyles. Of all those factors, the studying time and difficulty in financial life are most significant. Logistic regression analysis shows that main factors affecting college students’sub-health status including studying time, smoking, physical exercise, financial difficulties, dietary preference and staying up late. Decision tree analysis shows that factors that influence health include studying time, staying up late, alcohol consumption, financial difficulties, physical exercise, and dietary preferences. Decision tree model can predict whether someone is healthy or sub-healthy with precision as high as83.9%and it performs better than Logistic regression model. The paper finds that studying too long, lack of exercise and poor lifestyle (including staying up late, smoking and drinking) are main factors that influence college student health. On the basis of above analysis, this paper suggests that colleges and universities should provide more public spaces and sport activities to provide good environment for college students and meanwhile carry out regular sub-health evaluation advocating a healthy lifestyle so as to improve the sub-health status of college students.
