Objective:To study the risk factors related to post-traumatic subdural effusion with hydrocephalus(SDEH) after decompressive craniectomy (DC).Methods:Clinical data of61post-traumatic subdural effusion patients who were treated at the Neurosurgery Department of the Seeond Hospital Affiliated to Medieal College of Zhejiang University from Jan.1st2012to Dec.31st2013was retrospectively analyzed; the patients’general information、clinical and imaging features were analyzed by regression statistical analysis, using univariate factor and multiple factor. Results:Univariate analysis showed that average age、the size of bone flap(7cm*12cm-11cm*14cm)、interhemispheric hygroma and time interval have connection with post-traumatic SDEH after DC. Multiple regression analysis indicated that intraventricular hematoma、interhemispheric hygroma and time interval have connection with post-traumatic subdural effusion with hydrocephalus after decompressive craniectomyConclusion:Intraventricular hemorrhage、interhemispheric hygroma、time interval are the independent risk factors of post-traumatic SDEH after DC. In order to reduce the incidence of post-traumatic SDEH after DC and improve the prognosis of patients with moderate to severe traumatic brain injury, intermetion measures aim at risk factors mentioned above can be of great importance.
