Tick-borne encephalitis (Tick-Borne Encephalitis, TBE) is caused by tick-borne encephalitis virus (Tick-Borne Encephalitis virus, TBEV). TBEV invades the central nervous system cause focal disease. The endemic areas of TBE include Europe, Russia and Far East, China, Japan and other countries. In endemic areas, there are about10,000cases. The Far-East subtype case fatality rate from5%to20%up to30%and the majority of patients have severe neurological sequela in endemic areas, which has become an important public health problem. We analyze epidemic of TBE,2006-2011. In order to understand whether there are TBEV, Powassan Encephlitis Virus, Borrelia burgdorferi, Rickettsia and Babesia parasite in Jilin and Heilongjiang, we collected ticks for two consecutive years to carry out tick-borne pathogent investigation in Jilin and Heilongjiang Province,2011-2012. We analyze complete genome of TBEV. Results reported below.1Epidemiological analysis on tick-borne encephalitis in2006-2011(1) There are a total of1600TBE reported in China,2006-2011.The annual incidence was0.02/100000. The cases up to578, incidence is0.431/100000in2011.(2) The largest number of TBE are Inner Mongolia(703), Heilongjiang(620), Jilin province(261), a total number of cases1584, accounting for99%.(3) The incidence of TBE has obvious seasonal characteristics. The incidence peaked at June and July, each year incidence began to rise in May, cases decreased significantly in August.(4) TBE concentrated in the10to65year old people, the peak incidence between the ages of40to45. The overall incidence trend in the gender of women and men is same. The men’s incidence is higher than women in all age groups.(5) From2006to2011, TBE has obvious occupational characteristics. The farmer and herdsmen (30.44%) are487, workers (19.38%) are310.2Tick-borne pathogent investigation in Jilin and Heilongjiang Province(1) Tick-borne pathogent investigation. Two kinds of tick specimens were collected which were totally1765, from2011to2012.(2) The identification of tick-borne pathogentSeven strains tick-borne encephalitis virus were detected from ticks collected in white Korean Autonomous County of Jilin Province, and three complete genome sequence were determination,48spotted fever group rickettsia were detected; Ticks collected in Daxinganling Jiagedaqi of Heilongjiang Province detected15raoultii Rickettsia.3Three TBEV complete genome sequencing isolated in Jilin and Molecular analysis of the new isolates.Three complete genome sequencing of TBEV JLCB11-8, JLCB11-35. JLCB11-40were isolated in Jilin. TBEV genome, open reading frame (ORF), the structural protein E gene-based systems evolution analysis showed that TBEV distribution can be divided into three different clusters:Western Europe subtype. Siberia subtype and the Far Eastern type. The new isolates belong to the Far-Eastern subtype. Xiaoxing’anling-Changbai Mountain isolated is different from Daxinganling region and evolutionary cluster can be divided into the Daxinganling subtypes and Xiaoxing’anling-Changbai subtypes. There is no change in the E protein gene segments compared with tick-borne encephalitis vaccine strains (strain Senzhang), which can determine virus antigen and virulence of the key amino acid sites.SummaryIn this study, we analyze the epidemiological data of tick-borne encephalitis cases reported from2006to2011in Disease Surveillance Information Reporting System by descriptive analysis, discuss the local epidemiological characteristics of tick-borne encephalitis, and provide scientific basis to control and prevent local tick-borne encephalitis. We investigated on tick-borne pathogens in Changbai of Jilin Province and Daxinganling regions of Heilongjiang Province for two consecutive years. TBEV and spotted fever group rickettsia were detected from tick specimens collected in White Korean Autonomous County of Changbai City, Jilin Province. Spotted fever group rickettsia were detected from tick specimens collected in Daxinganling Jiagedaqi. Then we used complete genome sequence determination on three of them. The new isolates belonging to the Far-Eastern subtype. TBEV complete sequence analysis showed that the application of tick-borne encephalitis vaccine (strain Senzhang) still has a protective effect.
