Objective The study was carried out to know deltamethrin resistant level in Aedes albopictus wild population in different regions, to know the enzyme activity of mixed function oxidase (MFO), non-specific esterase (NSE) and glutathione-S-transferase (GST) and then to analyze the enzyme activity developing trend and their characteristics in these populations, so as to provide evidence for deltamethrin resistant management and for dengue prevention and control. Methods Using Ae. albopictus laboratory susceptible strains (LS) and laboratory resistant strains as reference and the WHO recommended adult mosquito pesticide resistance test bioassay the resistance level was evaluated, meanwhile, enzymes’activity was tested by microplate reader. Collected data was analyzed to compare the enzymes’activity and the variation between the different populations, frequency distribution of enzyme activity, and the relationship between each enzyme’s activity and protein content of mosquito individual. Results(1)Ae. albopictus had developed high resistance to the deltamethrin in different populations. Among the field populations, the highest one is Beijing population, the lowest one is Shanghai population. LS is susceptible, and the LR is highly resistant.(2)The enzyme activity of MFO of Cixi is the lowest, closing to the0.5fold of LS. The highest one is Zhanjiang, closing to the4flods of CiXi, and higher than LR of0.7flod.(3)The enzyme activity of NSE of CiXi is the lowest, closing to LS. The highest one is Beijing, closing to the6.7flods of LS and2flods of LR.(4)The enzyme activity of GST of Nanchang is the lowest, closing to LS. The highest one is Zhanjiang, closing to the1.96flods of LS and1flod of LR.(5)The enzyme activity frequency distribution of MFO, NSE and GST in all populations are different, and the greater range of distribution, the higher level of enzyme activity in general.(6)There is a high positively correlation between the NSE and GST activity of six populations, and the high correlation between MFO activity and protein content of all the populations.(7)There are high joint resistance in Zhanjiang and Chengdu. While the higher simple resistance not necessarily performance the high joint resistance, such as Beijing. Conclusion (1) Ae. albopictus had developed high resistance to deltamethrin in7field populations, but the resisitant level are different.(2) Ae. albopictus metabolic enzyme activity in different geographical populations are diverse. The dominant metabolic enzymes in field populations are different. The enzyme activity frequency distribution of metabolic enzyme activity show the regional characteristics.(3)The enzyme activity frequency distribution of metabolic enzyme activity are normal distribution on the whole, and the greater range of distribution, the higher level of enzyme activity in general.(4)There are high joint resistance in Zhanjiang and Chengdu.
