Objective: With the growth of age, femoral intertrochanteric fracture is increasinggeometrically. Now Intramedullary Screw Fixation have become the main means of thetreatment of unstable fractures. From gamma nail to PFN and PFNA,Technology contin-ues to improve but with the continuous deepening of clinical.Many front-line clinicians-have questioned on whether PFNA match the medullary cavity of Chinese people. So it isnecessary to recognise the proximal femoral medullary cavity diameter. Conventional Xray because of too many uncertain factors affects the accuracy of measurement.Howeverby the CT scan and three-dimensional reconstruction of the relevant data, we can interpretit more correctly.Method: We selected120cases of Chinese patients with hip disease, Eliminatepathological fracture and Patients with femoral neck fracture, who are an average of71.3years old(40~85), The average height of them is162.1(148~179)cm. They averageweight is80kg. Data selection time: From March2012to December2013. Measuringits contralateral medullary cavity diameter. Through the CT collection of the proximalfemoral medullary cavity data. On the basis of it, The collected data were reconstruc-ted by Mimics10.0. Using SAS Release8.01TS Level O1MO to analysis the data.The proximal femur diameter measurement include20mm above the small rotor the levelof femoral lesser trochanter20mm below the femoral lesser trochanter and isthmus. Weshould measure its anteroposterior diameter of medullary cavity and the diameter ofmedullary cavity. Studying the relativity between the femoral medullary cavity in theupper lines and lines. Studying the differences between Chinese and westerners.Result: The measurement data of the femoral medullary cavity diameter line(coronary diameter/sagittal diameter) conforms to normal distribution, there are obviousindividual differences between individuals. but there are no difference between the measured value. Compared with westerners, small statistical data clearly. People fromdifferent areas have no difference on the measured values, the data has no statisticalsignificance.Conclusion:1.By CT scanning and reconstruction of lines numerical data comparisonwith the traditional X ray film can be more intuitive clear computing research.2. Around inthe proximal femur there is a high degree of symmetry, we can through the study of thecontralateral limb to guide the treatment of limb.3. Medullary cavity diameter line hassome difference between men and women.4.We can find the difference between Americansand Chinese people in the proximal femur geometry parameters.our medullary cavity widthis narrower than westerners. The diameter of PFNA from AO is thicker than us. The rate ofthe proximal femur matching is lower. When applied to patients with intertrochantericfractures of proximal femur fracture are in high risk. By reducing the proximal naildiameter create conform to the curvature of the medullary cavity of PFNA compatriots, canreduce the mismatch rate significantly.5. Using Mimics to CT scanning image reconst-ruction analysis has high accuracy. We can scan cutting at any position and3dreconstruction, can conveniently set up in the proximal femur medullary cavity model. Wecan easy to study and parameters measurement of the femur.
