Objective:To report the new modification of laparoscopic peritoneal vaginoplasty and its clinical characteristics. Retrospective analysis is used to evaluate this novel improvement, to seek out for the appropriate interval to wear the vagina model and to start regular sex life, thus proving the modification to be a safe and convenient surgical therapy for MRKH patients.Material and Methods:In the year between 2006 and 2013,22 patients accepted this procedure. To evaluate the effectiveness of the surgery, parameters that we assessed included the duration of surgery, blood loss, length of neovagina, hospital stays and scores of FSFI questionnaire. Our control group was thirty-two healthy women whose age corresponded to the MRKH patients.The student’s paired sample t test was used to compare the differences between the FSFI scores. All average numerical results are shown as means ± SEM. Statistics was imputed by Microsoft Excel and analyzed by SPSS 19.0 version.Outcomes:Patients ranged in age from 17 to 31 with a mean of 23 years. 22 surgeries was down successfully. The average time of the surgery was 93±25.1 minutes. Blood loss was 81.3±44.5 ml. The length of the neovagina in the surgery reached to 10.1±1.4 cm.16 patients answered the FSFI questionnaire. The total score of the group of patients was 25.28±2.61, while the control group was 25.61±2.79. The statistical data demonstrated no difference between the two groups. The average time of wearing the vagina model and starting regular sex life after surgery was 12.5±5.6 months and 8.0±3.5 months, while the best time interval was 6.9 months and 5.6 months respectively concluded by the correlation analysis.Conclusion:The laparoscopic peritoneal vaginoplasty is a secure procedure for MRKH patients. They will acquire content sexual life after this surgery.
