With the accelerated pace of life and mental pressures, sleep disorders more cause for concern.2002 global insomnia survey shows that in China there are about 43.4 percent of people in the past year have experienced varying degrees of insomnia. Long-term insomnia is not only bring patients suffering mental and physical disorders but can also cause a number of columns, and also to the patient’s family and economic burden on society. The current treatment of insomnia can be divided into two categories:1) drug therapy:benzodiazepines, anxiety, depression, drug, etc 2) the non-drug therapy:sach as sleep hygiene, light therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and psychological. Nowadays there are no specific treatment guidelines therefore further studies needed for the treatment of insomnia. Transcranial magnetic stimulation (transcranial magnetic stimulation, TMS) is a new, safe, simple, effective physical diagnosis and treatment. TMS can be given to a specific site in the human brain magnetic stimulation, and different parts of stimulation, the stimulation frequency and the stimulation will produce different therapeutic effects. This study will observe TMS therapy on patients with insomnia, and try to explore the possible mechanism of TMS to treat insomnia. Objective:Evaluate the efficacy of the TMS treatment for insomnia.Methods:48 patients with insomnia into the treatment group, according to the Hamilton Depression Scale (Hamilton Depression Scale, HAMD24) and Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (Self-Rating Anxiety Scale, SAS) scores, the group divided into simple insomnia and mood disorders group. Stimulation site for the right prefrontal area, cortical stimulation intensity of 110% resting motor threshold stimulation frequency of 1Hz frequency 1 second string gap totaled 1,400 total per treatment stimulus. Once a day, five times a week of treatment, the treatment time was 2 weeks, a total of 10 treatments. Refers to the number using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality score sheet (Pittsburgh sleep quality index, PSQI), HAMD24, SAS to evaluate the therapeutic effect of the treatment. Results:The treatment group 4 cases off, a total of 48 patients completed two weeks of treatment. Therapy for the reduction rate in PSQI scale assessment of efficacy, reducing rates of≥ 75% as significant progress,≥ 50% as effective,≥ 25% for the progress,<25% as invalid. After 2 weeks of treatment simple and effective insomnia group of 7 patients (21%) of 10 cases of progress (30%), affective disorders valid set of two cases (13%) progress as the four cases (26%), the two groups have efficiency the difference was statistically significant (X2= 6.75 P= 0.009).Conclusion:rTMS for insomnia, depression and anxiety treatment are very effective. The treatment for the insomnia group and the mood disorder group are effective, and compare these two groups, the insomnia group had better efficiency.
