Objective: To investigate the status of asthma control and the parents’ cognitive level of asthmatic children in Guiyang,evaluate the effects of spreading standardized treatment,and to analyze the influencing factors so as to provide the basis for further strengthening asthma treatment and management.Methods: A total of 400 asthmatic children who visited the outpatients departments of Affiliated Hospital of Guiyang Medical College were selected,theses asthmatic children aged 1~14 years old and the course was more than 12 months.Questionnaire survey was conducted to the parents on the status of asthma control and their cognitive level about asthma,and analysis was carried out on the related factors likely to influence the asthma control. Results:(1) In the past 12 months, 72.5% asthmatic children had asthma attacks, 35.5% asthmatic children had visited the emergency room, and 17.8% asthmatic children had been hospitalized.(2) 61.5% children’ s parents thought that the nature of asthma was a chronic airway inflammatory disease;72.3% children’ s parents thought asthma was able to control; 77.0% parents thought asthma needed regular medication for a long time; 86.8% parents thought that long-term use of inhaled corticosteroids would affect children’ s growth and development;37.3% parents would add antibiotics when their children had acute asthma attack,while only 26.5% parents would choose short-acting β2-receptor agonists; 87.0% parents thought asthmatic children could participate in movement when the asthma was under control;35.5% parents would let their children adhere to use medicines regularly; and only 25.5% parents would bring their children to return visit hospital on time.(3)Family economic condition,parents’ education,parents’ cognitive level, adhere to standardized medication and regular visits were protective factors of asthma control,personal history of allergy, family history of asthma,and history of passive smoking were risk factors of asthma control. Conclusion:(1) Children’ s asthma is poorly controlled in Guiyang,there is a certain gap compared with the national city.(2) Parents’ cognitive level about asthma is low in Guiyang, there are a lot of confusion and misunderstanding in asthma treatment and management.(3) The family and social factors,exposure to adverse environment,and treatment adherence are the main factors of asthma control.Understanding and improving the influencing factors can help to improve the level of asthma control.
