Background:Healthy human body has a perfect body temperature regulation mechanism. If the ambient temperature change too much beyond the health human ability to regulate, it can cause abnormal life activities, leading to increased risk of population morbidity and mortality. As temperature and frequency of extreme weather events increase, the effects of temperature and extreme weather conditions arouse growing concerns. A number of epidemiological studies investigated the associations between daily temperature variations and health events. To our knowledge, most researchers selected mortality or hospital admission rate as indicators of health effects. So far, there’re few papers selecting other indicators. Cardiovascular diseases are the great threats to people health. It was reported that China annual of deaths from cardiovascular disease accounted for 40% of total disease cause of deaths, in which myocardial infarction is a major cause of cardiovascular disease mortality reason. If we understand the relation between temperature change and the number of myocardial infarction, it will be conducive to control the occurrence and development of cardiovascular disease and have a very important public health significance.Objective:Time-series approach was used to investigate the exposure-responses relationship between daily temperature and the number of elderly emergency ECG visits in JiaDing district of shanghai. Based on the high correlation between elderly emergency ECG visits and daily myocardial infarction incidences, explore the association between daily temperature and myocardial infarction and other cardiovascular events. Methods:We collected daily counts of elderly emergency ECG visits over 60 years old in the period of April 2009 to July 2013 from JiaDing center hospital, the daily temperature, humidity, barometric pressure and other meteorological data of same period were collected from ShangHai Meteorological Bureau. For the time series regression, we fitted the Poisson generalized additive model, after adjustment for long-term and seasonal trends using natural cubic smooth splines, day of week、 barometric press and relative humidity. The time-series models were fitted using gam package in R. Due to the correlation of time-series data, we used MGAM to control auto-regression. The delayed effects of temperature influence on human health was also analysedMain Results and Conclusion:Daily temperature has delay effects on the elderly emergency ECG visits in JiaDing district. The daily temperature of lagl has greatest effects on the elderly emergency ECG visits. When lagl daily temperature is less than 10℃, the elderly emergency ECG visits increased, while temperature increased.. When lagl daily temperature is higher than 10℃, the elderly emergency ECG visits decreased, while temperature decreased.
