Objective:To discuss whether the purple sweet potato anthocyanins protective effect radioactive intestinal damage in ratsMethods:The 54 healthy male SD rats, were divided randomly into 3 groups, the normal group(n=18), the irradiation group(n=18), the experimental group(n=18).The normal group:Don’t do the irradiation experiment, the 2nd day to the 14 th days of the experiment continue to fed with physiological saline 20 ml orally, 1 times / day; the irradiation group: the whole abdomen irradiation with 60 Co gamma ray, the 2nd day to the 14 th days of the experiment continue to fed with physiological saline 20 ml orally, 1 times / day, the experimental group: the whole abdomen irradiation with 60 Co gamma ray,the 2nd day to the 14 th days of the experiment continue to fed with sweet potato anthocyanins injection 20 ml orally, 1 times / day. 6 Rats in each group after irradiation 3 、 7 、 14 days were sacrificed and take the intestine,through the colorimetric method to detect intestinal SOD activity、MDA content、NO content and plasmic DAO content to know the small intestinal damage,TUNEL detect the cell apoptosis and observed the intestinal tissue pathological changes under the light microscope.Results:1.The change of the intestinal SOD activity、MDA content、NO content and plasmic DAO content in each group show :Each group comparison in same time, in Irradiation group and experimental group the content of the intestinal MDA content、NO content and plasmic DAO content were higher than the normal group, the activity of intestinal SOD was lower than that of the normal group,P<0.01;Each time point comparison in same group,the normal group 3D, 7D, 14 D, intestinal SOD activity、MDA content、NO content and plasmic DAO content had no significant difference, P>0.05;the irradiation group and the experimental group intestinal MDA content、NO content and plasmic DAO content are 3d > 7d > 14 d,the activity of SOD is 3d < 7d < 14 d, P<0.05。2. Small intestine of rats in each group changes of cell apoptosis: cell AI normal group of about 4.62%, while the cells were irradiated group AI reached 19.78%, the difference was statistically significant(P <0. 05); the experimental group was 14.36% AI cells, was significantly lower than the irradiation, the difference was statistically significant(P <0. 05).3. Biopsy of the small intestine of rats can be seen: the control group endoscopic intestinal mucosal thickness, villous structures intact, neat, clear and glandular structures crypt, submucosal no vasodilation and congestion, tightly packed cells.Irradiated group shedding a lot of intestinal mucosal villi, mucosa and glands obvious damage, vacuolar changes in intestinal crypt loss of normal structure, submucosa showed obvious vasodilation and congestion; purple sweet potato anthocyanins group of intestinal mucosal villous edema, epithelial cells is slightly off, glands and crypts were normal, mild vasodilation of submucosal, compared with irradiation significantly reduced. Purple sweet potato anthocyanins to some extent alleviate the intestinal tissue radiation injury; Between group, the normal group 3d, 7d, 14 d were no significant difference change of intestinal biopsy.In irradiation group 3d is more obvious than 7d in the part of vacuolization, mucosal bleeding and gland injury more,compared with 7d,14d’s mucosa hemorrhage reduce, but the glands not to be repaired.In the experimental group,3d is more obvious than 7d in the part of vascular expansion, fluffy mild edema, but the glands and fossae structure were almost normal. Compared with 7d,14d’s intestinal glands structure is normal, but with a small amount of inflammatory cells infiltration.Conclusion : Purple sweet potato anthocyanin can reduce the intestinal MDA content、NO content and the plasmic DAO content,and increase the intestinal SOD activity,and reduce the cell apoptotic rate of the small intestine.
